What is the coverage range of the scent of the mosquito traps? This affects how close the traps should be when we distribute them in the fly-zone.

The Trap will attract

The Trap will attract mosquitos only within a close radius of its sensors (less than 5 meters). A few mitigating constraints are available to improve the effective radius of the trap in its goal to sample the mosquito population: (1) mosquito density is assumed to be constant throughout any sample space; (2) mosquitos will be following other mammals throughout the space, and thus mammal traffic (assumed to be uniformly distributed in density velocity and direction) will enable more mosquitos to travel near the trap; and (3) since total capture of mosquitos is not required, only a significant sample is set as the design goal. With these mitigating features, an effective radius of 200m is used for each trap. There is no explicit penalty or benefit to overlap traps, excepting the implicit scoring of the number of traps used for a system mission.
