Hello all,

We are only a month away from the 2016 GCTC Expo in Austin, Texas, June 13-14! I am pleased to share that we anticipate more than 90 Action Clusters to present their Smart City/IoT projects next month at the Austin Convention Center.

If you haven't already registered for the GCTC Expo, please visit our event website http://www.gctcexpo.org to register and learn more about the program. Registration for the GCTC Expo is free and includes complimentary access to the exhibition floor of the two co-located events, US-Ignite Application Summit, and Smart City Innovation Summit.

GCTC Expo: Speaker Announcement

We are excited to announce that Dr. Reginald Brothers, the Under Secretary, Science and Technology at the US Department of Homeland Security and Steve Adler, the Mayor of Austin will each present at the GCTC Expo.

In addition to presentations from thought-leaders from the private sector and federal government, the 2016 GCTC Expo will include exhibits and presentations from the 2016 GCTC Action Clusters. Teams will display life-saving sensors, drones, and concept vehicles and will showcase a variety of smart city apps. IES-City Framework Workshop in Austin - June 15-16

The IES-City Framework project has launched and the working group meetings have begun. We are planning for a mid-project workshop in Austin on June 15-16, 2016. More details to come, but we encourage you to plan to attend. At this workshop, we will review the progress of the three working groups who are expected to present and collaborate to plan the final deliverable. Travel Awards

US Ignite is excited to announce the availability of travel grants for qualified applicants. To be considered for the US Ignite Travel Award for Smart Community Week, please submit your information here. City officials, academics, international government officials, speakers, and demo teams are eligible. We will begin notifying award winners on May 27.
