NTIA Panel at the GCTC Expo: Enabling Smart Cities with Infrastructure and Policy

What will happen to a city's wireless spectrum resources when millions of smart devices are brought online? How can cities ensure that residents and businesses can take advantage of the latest smart technologies? Hear experts from the National Telecommunications and Information Administration (NTIA) and NTIA's Institute for Telecommunication Sciences discuss how they're leading cutting-edge research on spectrum sharing and interference, helping communities expand their broadband infrastructure, and developing policies that foster innovation. Opportunities to Engage with GCTC Partners

GE Intelligent World Hackathon

GE just launched the Intelligent World Hackathon, a global online competition to encourage urban innovation using sensor data with Predix, GE's Industrial Internet of Things platform. During the competition, software developers and data engineers will be among the first to use the Predix cloud to analyze sensor data from these networks -- allowing them to build apps that improve city living in one of four major areas: parking and traffic, pedestrian planning, intelligent commercial and retail buildings, and public safety.

All participants get a free Predix developer account during the hackathon, along with a shot at $55,000 in cash prizes. The grand prize, second prize, and category winners also receive a year-long free Predix account, as well as a meeting with GE Ventures, GE's startup incubator.
