Hi all,
I have modified the azcar.xacro file to use it for a project at my university. The changes I have made are actually just changing the dimensions and removing the block_laser_link and the camera. My tf free looks as follows now: https://postimg.org/image/3n5ekgkih/
When I try to create the map of my world with hector mapping, the map is not building up but moves along with the robot. For better understanding I have uploaded to images: https://postimg.org/image/c34oos2u9/ https://postimg.org/image/9n2vaxkrl/.
Does anyone have an idea what is wrong with my simulation?
Thank you in advance!

Hi there! It's tough to say without in-depth debugging, I think this is probably more of a generic hector_mapping question, or generic ROS question. We spent tens of hours setting up our environment to make sure it would work out of the box, and it took a lot of digging through those forums to figure out how to get everything going. If you removed some stuff from that setup, probably that's the culprit. Good luck!

I have also modified the whole physical structure of the model and fortunately, my slam is perfectly working!
The problem with your case could be the removal of laser. How can you map the environment without using laser!
I am also a newbie in this field and so could be wrong, but this is what I have experienced while changing the vehicle model.
