Rout, Sonali, Mohapatra, Ramesh Kumar.  2022.  Hiding Sensitive Information in Surveillance Video without Affecting Nefarious Activity Detection. 2022 2nd International Conference on Artificial Intelligence and Signal Processing (AISP). :1–6.
Protection of private and sensitive information is the most alarming issue for security providers in surveillance videos. So to provide privacy as well as to enhance secrecy in surveillance video without affecting its efficiency in detection of violent activities is a challenging task. Here a steganography based algorithm has been proposed which hides private information inside the surveillance video without affecting its accuracy in criminal activity detection. Preprocessing of the surveillance video has been performed using Tunable Q-factor Wavelet Transform (TQWT), secret data has been hidden using Discrete Wavelet Transform (DWT) and after adding payload to the surveillance video, detection of criminal activities has been conducted with maintaining same accuracy as original surveillance video. UCF-crime dataset has been used to validate the proposed framework. Feature extraction is performed and after feature selection it has been trained to Temporal Convolutional Network (TCN) for detection. Performance measure has been compared to the state-of-the-art methods which shows that application of steganography does not affect the detection rate while preserving the perceptual quality of the surveillance video.

The technique of concealing a confidential information in a carrier information is known as steganography. When we use digital images as carriers, it is termed as image steganography. The advancements in digital technology and the need for information security have given great significance for image steganographic methods in the area of secured communication. An efficient steganographic system is characterized by a good trade-off between its features such as imperceptibility and capacity. The proposed scheme implements an edge-detection based adaptive steganography with transform domain embedding, offering high imperceptibility and capacity. The scheme employs an adaptive embedding technique to select optimal data-hiding regions in carrier image, using Canny edge detection and a Convolutional Neural Network (CNN). Then, the secret image is embedded in the Dual-Tree Complex Wavelet Transform (DTCWT) coefficients of the selected carrier image blocks, with the help of Singular Value Decomposition (SVD). The analysis of the scheme is performed using metrics such as Peak Signal-to-Noise Ratio (PSNR), Structural Similarity Index (SSIM), and Normalized Cross Correlation (NCC).

[Anonymous].  2020.  B-DCT based Watermarking Algorithm for Patient Data Protection in IoMT. 2020 International Conference on Information Security and Cryptology (ISCTURKEY). :1—4.
Internet of Medical Things (IoMT) is the connection between medical devices and information systems to share, collect, process, store, and integrate patient and health data using network technologies. X-Rays, MR, MRI, and CT scans are the most frequently used patient medical image data. These images usually include patient information in one of the corners of the image. In this research work, to protect patient information, a new robust and secure watermarking algorithm developed for a selected region of interest (ROI) of medical images. First ROI selected from the medical image, then selected part divided equal blocks and applied Discrete Cosine Transformation (DCT) algorithm to embed a watermark into the selected coefficients. Several geometric and removal attacks are applied to the watermarked multimedia element such as lossy image compression, the addition of Gaussian noise, denoising, filtering, median filtering, sharpening, contrast enhancement, JPEG compression, and rotation. Experimental results show very promising results in PSNR and similarity ratio (SR) values after blocked DCT (B-DCT) based embedding algorithm against the Discrete Wavelet Transformation (DWT), Least Significant Bits (LSB) and DCT algorithms.

The deep learning-based compressive Sensing (CS) has shown substantial improved performance and in run-time reduction with signal sampling and reconstruction. In most cases, moreover, these techniques suffer from disrupting artefacts or high-frequency contents at low sampling ratios. Similarly, this occurs in the multi-resolution sampling method, which further collects more components with lower frequencies. A promising innovation combining CS with convolutionary neural network has eliminated the sparsity constraint yet recovery persists slow. We propose a Deep wavelet based compressive sensing with multi-resolution framework provides better improvement in reconstruction as well as run time. The proposed model demonstrates outstanding quality on test functions over previous approaches.

Rout, S., Mohapatra, R. K..  2020.  Video Steganography using Curvelet Transform and Elliptic Curve Cryptography. 2020 11th International Conference on Computing, Communication and Networking Technologies (ICCCNT). :1–7.
Video steganography mainly deals with secret data transmission in a carrier video file without being visually noticeable by intruders. Video steganography is preferred over image steganography because a video carries more space in comparison to an image. The main concept of information hiding consists of a cover media, which is a greyscale or a color video, a secret data, which is an image or text, and a stego key. Here a secure video steganography method has been proposed which uses Curvelet Transform for secret data embedding, Elliptic Curve Cryptography for stego key encryption and a threshold algorithm for the determination of the amount of secret data to be encoded per frame. A video is a collection of various frames. The frames are selected randomly from the cover video and the frame number of the respective frames has been indexed in the stego key to find the secret data embedding location. Here, the selection of frames in a sequential manner has been avoided to improve security. For enhanced security, the stego key is also encrypted using Elliptic Curve Integrated Encryption Scheme (ECIES). Fast Discrete Curvelet Transform (FDCT) has been applied to the frames of the cover video and the curvelet coefficients have been modified to obscure the secret data to produce the stego video.

Image watermarking is very important phenomenon in modern society where intellectual property right of information is necessary. Considering this impending problem, there are many image watermarking methods exist in the literature each of having some key advantages and disadvantages. After summarising state-of-the-art literature survey, an optimum digital watermark technique using singular value decomposition with principle component analysis (PCA) is proposed and verified. Basically, the host image is compressed using PCA which reduces multi-dimensional data to effective low-dimensional information. In this scheme, the watermark is embedded using the discrete wavelet transformation-singular value decomposition approach. Simulation results show that the proposed method improves the system performance compared with the existing method in terms of the watermark embedding, and extraction time. Therefore, this work is valuable for image watermarking in modern life such as tracing copyright infringements and banknote authentication.

Al-Haj, Ali, Farfoura, Mahmoud.  2019.  Providing Security for E-Government Document Images Using Digital Watermarking in the Frequency Domain. 2019 5th International Conference on Information Management (ICIM). :77—81.

Many countries around the world have realized the benefits of the e-government platform in peoples' daily life, and accordingly have already made partial implementations of the key e-government processes. However, before full implementation of all potential services can be made, governments demand the deployment of effective information security measures to ensure secrecy and privacy of their citizens. In this paper, a robust watermarking algorithm is proposed to provide copyright protection for e-government document images. The proposed algorithm utilizes two transforms: the Discrete Wavelet Transformation (DWT) and the Singular Value Decomposition (SVD). Experimental results demonstrate that the proposed e-government document images watermarking algorithm performs considerably well compared to existing relevant algorithms.

ECG signals are often corrupted by 50 Hz noise, the frequency from the power supply. So it becomes quite necessary to remove Power Line Interference (PLI) from the ECG signal. The reference ECG signal data was taken from the MIT-BIH database. Different filtering techniques comprising of Discrete Wavelet Transform (DWT), Normalized Least Mean Square (NLMS) filter, Finite Impulse Response (FIR) filter and Infinite Impulse Response (IIR) filter were used in this paper for denoising the ECG signal which was corrupted by the PLI. Later, the comparison was made among the methods, to find the best methodology to denoise the corrupted ECG signal. The parameters that were used for the comparison are Mean Square Error (MSE), Mean Absolute Error (MAE), Signal to Noise Ratio (SNR) and Peak Signal to Noise Ratio (PSNR). Higher values of SNR & PSNR and lower values of MSE & MAE define the best denoising algorithm.

Video Steganography is an extension of image steganography where any kind of file in any extension is hidden into a digital video. The video content is dynamic in nature and this makes the detection of hidden data difficult than other steganographic techniques. The main motive of using video steganography is that the videos can store large amount of data in it. This paper focuses on security using the combination of hybrid neural networks and hash function for determining the best bits in the cover video to embed the secret data. For the embedding process, the cover video and the data to be hidden is uploaded. Then the hash algorithm and neural networks are applied to form the stego video. For the extraction process, the reverse process is applied and the secret data is obtained. All experiments are done using MatLab2016a software.

Now-a-days, video steganography has developed for a secured communication among various users. The two important factor of steganography method are embedding potency and embedding payload. Here, a Multiple Object Tracking (MOT) algorithmic programs used to detect motion object, also shows foreground mask. Discrete wavelet Transform (DWT) and Discrete Cosine Transform (DCT) are used for message embedding and extraction stage. In existing system Least significant bit method was proposed. This technique of hiding data may lose some data after some file transformation. The suggested Multiple object tracking algorithm increases embedding and extraction speed, also protects secret message against various attackers.

Vaidya, S. P..  2018.  Multipurpose Color Image Watermarking in Wavelet Domain Using Multiple Decomposition Techniques. 2018 Second International Conference on Inventive Communication and Computational Technologies (ICICCT). :251-255.

A multipurpose color image watermarking method is presented to provide \textcopyright protection and ownership verification of the multimedia information. For robust color image watermarking, color watermark is utilized to bring universality and immense applicability to the proposed scheme. The cover information is first converted to Red, Green and Blue components image. Each component is transformed in wavelet domain using DWT (Discrete Wavelet Transform) and then decomposition techniques like Singular Value Decomposition (SVD), QR and Schur decomposition are applied. Multiple watermark embedding provides the watermarking scheme free from error (false positive). The watermark is modified by scrambling it using Arnold transform. In the proposed watermarking scheme, robustness and quality is tested with metrics like Peak Signal to Noise Ratio (PSNR) and Normalized Correlation Coefficient (NCC). Further, the proposed scheme is compared with related watermarking schemes.

We are using a text file and convert into an image as watermark and embed watermarks into the cover image. We evaluate performance and compare this method with other methods like Least Significant Bit, Discrete Cosine Transform, and Discrete Wavelet Transform using Peak Signal Noise Ratio and Mean Squared Error. The result of this experiment showed that combine of Discrete Wavelet Transform and Singular Value Decomposition performance is better than the Least Significant Bit, Discrete Cosine Transform, and Discrete Wavelet Transform. The result of Peak Signal Noise Ratio obtained from Discrete Wavelet Transform and Singular Value Decomposition method is 57.0519 and 56.9520 while the result of Mean Squared Error is 0.1282 and 0.1311. Future work for this research is to add the encryption method on the data to be entered so that if there is an attack then the encryption method can secure the data becomes more secure.

Based on the feature analysis of image content, this paper proposes a novel steganalytic method for grayscale images in spatial domain. In this work, we firstly investigates directional lifting wavelet transform (DLWT) as a sparse representation in compressive sensing (CS) domain. Then a block CS (BCS) measurement matrix is designed by using the generalized Gaussian distribution (GGD) model, in which the measurement matrix can be used to sense the DLWT coefficients of images to reflect the feature residual introduced by steganography. Extensive experiments are showed that proposed scheme CS-based is feasible and universal for detecting stegography in spatial domain.

In this paper, an innovative approach to keyboard user monitoring (authentication), using keyboard dynamics and founded on the concept of time series analysis, is presented. The work is motivated by the need for robust authentication mechanisms in the context of on-line assessment such as those featured in many online learning platforms. Four analysis mechanisms are considered: analysis of keystroke time series in their raw form (without any translation), analysis consequent to translating the time series into a more compact form using either the Discrete Fourier Transform or the Discrete Wavelet Transform, and a "benchmark" feature vector representation of the form typically used in previous related work. All four mechanisms are fully described and evaluated. A best authentication accuracy of 99% was obtained using the wavelet transform.

IECON 2017 - 43rd Annual Conference of the IEEE Industrial Electronics Society. :3239–3244.

The modular multilevel converter with series and parallel connectivity was shown to provide advantages in several industrial applications. Its reliability largely depends on the absence of failures in the power semiconductors. We propose and analyze a fault-diagnosis technique to identify shorted switches based on features generated through wavelet transform of the converter output and subsequent classification in support vector machines. The multi-class support vector machine is trained with multiple recordings of the output of each fault condition as well as the converter under normal operation. Simulation results reveal that the proposed method has high classification latency and high robustness. Except for the monitoring of the output, which is required for the converter control in any case, this method does not require additional module sensors.

For the increasing use of internet, it is equally important to protect the intellectual property. And for the protection of copyright, a blind digital watermark algorithm with SVD and OSELM in the IWT domain has been proposed. During the embedding process, SVD has been applied to the coefficient blocks to get the singular values in the IWT domain. Singular values are modulated to embed the watermark in the host image. Online sequential extreme learning machine is trained to learn the relationship between the original coefficient and the corresponding watermarked version. During the extraction process, this trained OSELM is used to extract the embedded watermark logo blindly as no original host image is required during this process. The watermarked image is altered using various attacks like blurring, noise, sharpening, rotation and cropping. The experimental results show that the proposed watermarking scheme is robust against various attacks. The extracted watermark has very much similarity with the original watermark and works good to prove the ownership.

H..  2017.  Correlation based highly secure image hiding in audio signals using wavelet decomposition and chaotic maps hopping for 5G multimedia communications. 2017 XXXIInd General Assembly and Scientific Symposium of the International Union of Radio Science (URSI GASS). :1–3.

Audio Steganography is the technique of hiding any secret information behind a cover audio file without impairing its quality. Data hiding in audio signals has various applications such as secret communications and concealing data that may influence the security and safety of governments and personnel and has possible important applications in 5G communication systems. This paper proposes an efficient secure steganography scheme based on the high correlation between successive audio signals. This is similar to the case of differential pulse coding modulation technique (DPCM) where encoding uses the redundancy in sample values to encode the signals with lower bit rate. Discrete Wavelet Transform (DWT) of audio samples is used to store hidden data in the least important coefficients of Haar transform. We use the benefit of the small differences between successive samples generated from encoding of the cover audio signal wavelet coefficients to hide image data without making a remarkable change in the cover audio signal. instead of changing of actual audio samples so this doesn't perceptually degrade the audio signal and provides higher hiding capacity with lower distortion. To further increase the security of the image hiding process, the image to be hidden is divided into blocks and the bits of each block are XORed with a different random sequence of logistic maps using hopping technique. The performance of the proposed algorithm has been estimated extensively against attacks and experimental results show that the proposed method achieves good robustness and imperceptibility.

As increasingly more enterprises are deploying cloud file-sharing services, this adds a new channel for potential insider threats to company data and IPs. In this paper, we introduce a two-stage machine learning system to detect anomalies. In the first stage, we project the access logs of cloud file-sharing services onto relationship graphs and use three complementary graph-based unsupervised learning methods: OddBall, PageRank and Local Outlier Factor (LOF) to generate outlier indicators. In the second stage, we ensemble the outlier indicators and introduce the discrete wavelet transform (DWT) method, and propose a procedure to use wavelet coefficients with the Haar wavelet function to identify outliers for insider threat. The proposed system has been deployed in a real business environment, and demonstrated effectiveness by selected case studies.

Zhu, X., Badr, Y., Pacheco, J., Hariri, S..  2017.  Autonomic Identity Framework for the Internet of Things. 2017 International Conference on Cloud and Autonomic Computing (ICCAC). :69–79.

The Internet of Things (IoT) will connect not only computers and mobile devices, but it will also interconnect smart buildings, houses, and cities, as well as electrical grids, gas plants, and water networks, automobiles, airplanes, etc. IoT will lead to the development of a wide range of advanced information services that are pervasive, cost-effective, and can be accessed from anywhere and at any time. However, due to the exponential number of interconnected devices, cyber-security in the IoT is a major challenge. It heavily relies on the digital identity concept to build security mechanisms such as authentication and authorization. Current centralized identity management systems are built around third party identity providers, which raise privacy concerns and present a single point of failure. In addition, IoT unconventional characteristics such as scalability, heterogeneity and mobility require new identity management systems to operate in distributed and trustless environments, and uniquely identify a particular device based on its intrinsic digital properties and its relation to its human owner. In order to deal with these challenges, we present a Blockchain-based Identity Framework for IoT (BIFIT). We show how to apply our BIFIT to IoT smart homes to achieve identity self-management by end users. In the context of smart home, the framework autonomously extracts appliances signatures and creates blockchain-based identifies for their appliance owners. It also correlates appliances signatures (low level identities) and owners identifies in order to use them in authentication credentials and to make sure that any IoT entity is behaving normally.

Image Denoising nowadays is a great Challenge in the field of image processing. Since Discrete wavelet transform (DWT) is one of the powerful and perspective approaches in the area of image de noising. But fixing an optimal threshold is the key factor to determine the performance of denoising algorithm using (DWT). The optimal threshold can be estimated from the image statistics for getting better performance of denoising in terms of clarity or quality of the images. In this paper we analyzed various methods of denoising from the sonar image by using various thresholding methods (Vishnu Shrink, Bayes Shrink and Neigh Shrink) experimentally and compare the result in terms of various image quality parameters. (PSNR,MSE,SSIM and Entropy). The results of the proposed method show that there is an improvenment in the visual quality of sonar images by suppressing the speckle noise and retaining edge details.

In this paper, we investigate the performance of multiple-input multiple-output aided coded interleave division multiple access (IDMA) system for secured medical image transmission through wireless communication. We realize the MIMO profile using four transmit antennas at the base station and three receive antennas at the mobile station. We achieve bandwidth efficiency using discrete wavelet transform (DWT). Further we implement Arnold's Cat Map (ACM) encryption algorithm for secured medical transmission. We consider celulas as medical image which is used to differentiate between normal cell and carcinogenic cell. In order to accommodate more users' image, we consider IDMA as accessing scheme. At the mobile station (MS), we employ non-linear minimum mean square error (MMSE) detection algorithm to alleviate the effects of unwanted multiple users image information and multi-stream interference (MSI) in the context of downlink transmission. In particular, we investigate the effects of three types of delay-spread distributions pertaining to Stanford university interim (SUI) channel models for encrypted image transmission of MIMO-IDMA system. From our computer simulation, we reveal that DWT based coded MIMO- IDMA system with ACM provides superior picture quality in the context of DL communication while offering higher spectral efficiency and security.
