Internet of Vehicles consists of a three-layer architecture of electric vehicles, charging piles, and a grid dispatch management control center. Therefore, V2G presents multi-level, multi-agent and frequent information interaction, which requires a highly secure and lightweight identity authentication method. Based on the characteristics of Internet of Vehicles, this paper designs a multi-subject information interaction and one-way hash chain authentication method, it includes one-way hash chain and key distribution update strategy. The operation experiment of multiple electric vehicles and charging piles shows that the algorithm proposed in this paper can meet the V2G ID authentication requirements of Internet of Vehicles, and has the advantages of lightweight and low consumption. It is of great significance to improve the security protection level of Internet of Vehicles V2G.

Energy trading in small groups or microgrids is interesting to study. The energy market may overgrow in the future, so accessing the energy market by small prosumers may not be difficult anymore. This paper has modeled a decentralized P2P energy trading and exchange system in a microgrid group. The Islanded microgrid system is simulated to create a small energy producer and consumer trading situation. The simulation results show the increasing energy transactions and profit when including V2G as an energy storage device. In addition, blockchain is used for system security because a peer-to-peer marketplace has no intermediary control.

The vehicle-to-grid (V2G) network has a clear advantage in terms of economic benefits, and it has grabbed the interest of powergrid and electric vehicle (EV) consumers. Many V2G techniques, at present, for example, use bilinear pairing to execute the authentication scheme, which results in significant computational costs. Furthermore, in the existing V2G techniques, the system master key is issued independently by the third parties, it is vulnerable to leaking if the third party is compromised by an attacker. This paper presents an efficient and secure anonymous authentication scheme for V2G networks to overcome this issue we use a lightweight authentication system for electric vehicles and smart grids. In the proposed technique, the keys are generated by the trusted authority after the successful registration of EVs in the trusted authority and the dispatching center. The suggested scheme not only enhances the verification performance of V2G networks and also protects against inbuilt hackers.

This paper addresses security and risk management of hardware and embedded systems across several applications. There are three companies involved in the research. First is an energy technology company that aims to leverage electric- vehicle batteries through vehicle to grid (V2G) services in order to provide energy storage for electric grids. Second is a defense contracting company that provides acquisition support for the DOD's conventional prompt global strike program (CPGS). These systems need protections in their production and supply chains, as well as throughout their system life cycles. Third is a company that deals with trust and security in advanced logistics systems generally. The rise of interconnected devices has led to growth in systems security issues such as privacy, authentication, and secure storage of data. A risk analysis via scenario-based preferences is aided by a literature review and industry experts. The analysis is divided into various sections of Criteria, Initiatives, C-I Assessment, Emergent Conditions (EC), Criteria-Scenario (C-S) relevance and EC Grouping. System success criteria, research initiatives, and risks to the system are compiled. In the C-I Assessment, a rating is assigned to signify the degree to which criteria are addressed by initiatives, including research and development, government programs, industry resources, security countermeasures, education and training, etc. To understand risks of emergent conditions, a list of Potential Scenarios is developed across innovations, environments, missions, populations and workforce behaviors, obsolescence, adversaries, etc. The C-S Relevance rates how the scenarios affect the relevance of the success criteria, including cost, schedule, security, return on investment, and cascading effects. The Emergent Condition Grouping (ECG) collates the emergent conditions with the scenarios. The generated results focus on ranking Initiatives based on their ability to negate the effects of Emergent Conditions, as well as producing a disruption score to compare a Potential Scenario's impacts to the ranking of Initiatives. The results presented in this paper are applicable to the testing and evaluation of security and risk for a variety of embedded smart devices and should be of interest to developers, owners, and operators of critical infrastructure systems.

Rapid multiplication of electric vehicles requires the implementation of a new infrastructure to sustain their operations. For instance, charging these vehicles batteries necessitates a connection that allows information exchanges between vehicle and infrastructure. These exchanges are managed by a network called V2G (Vehicle to Grid), which is governed by the ISO 15118 standard. This last recommends the use of X.509 hierarchical PKI to protect the network communications against attacks. Although several authors have identified and criticized the shortcomings of this proposal, but no one provides a robust and effective remedial solution to alleviate them. This paper proposes an efficient protocol that addresses these shortcomings while respecting the concepts of the ISO 15118 standard. It fulfills the most important security requirements i.e. confidentiality, anonymity, integrity and non-repudiation. The validity and effectiveness of the proposed protocol were confirmed using the formal modeling tool Tamarin Prover and the RISE- V2G simulator.

With the rapid technological advancement of the universal internet of vehicles (UIoV), it becomes crucial to ensure safe and secure communication over the network, in an effort to achieve the implementation objective of UIoV effectively. A UIoV is characterized by highly dynamic topology, scalability, and thus vulnerable to various types of security and privacy attacks (i.e., replay attack, impersonation attack, man-in-middle attack, non-repudiation, and modification). Since the components of UIoV are constrained by numerous factors (e.g., low memory devices, low power), which makes UIoV highly susceptible. Therefore, existing schemes to address the privacy and security facets of UIoV exhibit an enormous scope of improvement in terms of time complexity and efficiency. This paper presents a lightweight authentication and batch verification scheme (LABVS) for UIoV using a bilinear map and cryptographic operations (i.e., one-way hash function, concatenation, XOR) to minimize the rate of message loss occurred due to delay in response time as in single message verification scheme. Subsequently, the scheme results in a high level of security and privacy. Moreover, the performance analysis substantiates that LABVS minimizes the computational delay and has better performance in the delay-sensitive network in terms of security and privacy as compared to the existing schemes.

This paper focuses on the secure integration of distributed energy resources (DERs), especially pluggable electric vehicles (EVs), with the power grid. We consider the vehicle-to-grid (V2G) system where EVs are connected to the power grid through an `aggregator' In this paper, we propose a novel Cyber-Physical Anomaly Detection Engine that monitors system behavior and detects anomalies almost instantaneously (worst case inspection time for a packet is 0.165 seconds1). This detection engine ensures that the critical power grid component (viz., aggregator) remains secure by monitoring (a) cyber messages for various state changes and data constraints along with (b) power data on the V2G cyber network using power measurements from sensors on the physical/power distribution network. Since the V2G system is time-sensitive, the anomaly detection engine also monitors the timing requirements of the protocol messages to enhance the safety of the aggregator. To the best of our knowledge, this is the first piece of work that combines (a) the EV charging/discharging protocols, the (b) cyber network and (c) power measurements from physical network to detect intrusions in the EV to power grid system.1Minimum latency on V2G network is 2 seconds.

In this paper, we address the problem of demand response of electrical vehicles (EVs) during microgrid outages in the smart grid through the application of Vehicle-to-Grid (V2G) technology. Particularly, we present a novel privacy-preserving double auction scheme. In our auction market, the MicroGrid Center Controller (MGCC) acts as the auctioneer, solving the social welfare maximization problem of matching buyers to sellers, and the cloud is used as a broker between bidders and the auctioneer, protecting privacy through homomorphic encryption. Theoretical analysis is conducted to validate our auction scheme in satisfying the intended economic and privacy properties (e.g., strategy-proofness and k-anonymity). We also evaluate the performance of the proposed scheme to confirm its practical effectiveness.
