Nowadays, safety is a first-rate subject for all applications. There has been an exponential growth year by year in the number of businesses going digital since the few decades following the birth of the Internet. In these technologically advanced times, cyber security is a must mainly for internet applications, so we have the notion of diving deeper into the Cyber security domain and are determined to make a complete project. We aim to develop a website portal for ease of communication between us and the end user. Utilizing the power of python scripting and flask server to make independent automated tools for detection of SQLI, XSS & a Spider(Content Discovery Tool). We have also integrated skipfish as a website vulnerability scanner to our project using python and Kali Linux. Since conducting a penetration test on another website without permission is not legal, we thought of building a dummy website prone to OS Command Injection in addition to the above-mentioned attacks. A well-documented report will be generated after the penetration test/ vulnerability scan. In case the website is vulnerable, patching of the website will be done with the user's consent.

Nkoro, Ebuka Chinaechetam, Nwakanma, Cosmas Ifeanyi, Lee, Jae-Min, Kim, Dong-Seong.  2022.  Industrial Network Attack Vulnerability Detection and Analysis using Shodan Eye Scanning Technology. 2022 13th International Conference on Information and Communication Technology Convergence (ICTC). :886–889.
Exploring the efficient vulnerability scanning and detection technology of various tools is one fundamental aim of network security. This network security technique ameliorates the tremendous number of IoT security challenges and the threats they face daily. However, among various tools, Shodan Eye scanning technology has proven to be very helpful for network administrators and security personnel to scan, detect and analyze vulnerable ports and traffic in organizations' networks. This work presents a simulated network scanning activity and manual vulnerability analysis of an internet-connected industrial equipment of two chosen industrial networks (Industry A and B) by running Shodan on a virtually hosted (Oracle Virtual Box)-Linux-based operating system (Kali Linux). The result shows that the shodan eye is a a promising tool for network security and efficient vulnerability research.

Sweigert, Devin, Chowdhury, Md Minhaz, Rifat, Nafiz.  2022.  Exploit Security Vulnerabilities by Penetration Testing. 2022 IEEE International Conference on Electro Information Technology (eIT). :527–532.
When we setup a computer network, we need to know if an attacker can get into the system. We need to do a series of test that shows the vulnerabilities of the network setup. These series of tests are commonly known Penetration Test. The need for penetration testing was not well known before. This paper highlights how penetration started and how it became as popular as it has today. The internet played a big part into the push to getting the idea of penetration testing started. The styles of penetration testing can vary from physical to network or virtual based testing which either can be a benefit to how a company becomes more secure. This paper presents the steps of penetration testing that a company or organization needs to carry out, to find out their own security flaws.

Johnson, Andrew, Haddad, Rami J..  2021.  Evading Signature-Based Antivirus Software Using Custom Reverse Shell Exploit. SoutheastCon 2021. :1–6.
Antivirus software is considered to be the primary line of defense against malicious software in modern computing systems. The purpose of this paper is to expose exploitation that can evade Antivirus software that uses signature-based detection algorithms. In this paper, a novel approach was proposed to change the source code of a common Metasploit-Framework used to compile the reverse shell payload without altering its functionality but changing its signature. The proposed method introduced an additional stage to the shellcode program. Instead of the shellcode being generated and stored within the program, it was generated separately and stored on a remote server and then only accessed when the program is executed. This approach was able to reduce its detectability by the Antivirus software by 97% compared to a typical reverse shell program.

From the beginning of technology and Wi-Fi based systems wireless networks had a prominent threat upon data security. Without security measures many organizations contribute on these flaws of security to make it better. There are many vulnerabilities of security models which are discussed in this article such as hacking through Wi-Fi security by Aircrack-ng, previous security model vulnerabilities and also the performance of Aircrack-ng attack on Wi-Fi modem or routers. In order to crack WPA/WPA2, kali Linux operating system will be needed along with Aircrack-ng packages installed on any compatible PC. Some of the new standard WPA3 such like downgrade problem on which the system will let the device to downgrade from WPA3 to WPA2 in order to connect with incompatible devise. Further, it makes a way for hackers to obtain Wi-Fi passwords even from new model defined such as WPA3 by using old techniques. The new model introduced Wi-Fi security protocol WPA3 is also no longer a secure model it can be penetrated. Researchers have discovered some new vulnerability enables hackers to get out the Wi-Fi passwords.

Bhatnagar, Dev, Som, Subhranil, Khatri, Sunil Kumar.  2019.  Advance Persistant Threat and Cyber Spying - The Big Picture, Its Tools, Attack Vectors and Countermeasures. 2019 Amity International Conference on Artificial Intelligence (AICAI). :828–839.

Advance persistent threat is a primary security concerns to the big organizations and its technical infrastructure, from cyber criminals seeking personal and financial information to state sponsored attacks designed to disrupt, compromising infrastructure, sidestepping security efforts thus causing serious damage to organizations. A skilled cybercriminal using multiple attack vectors and entry points navigates around the defenses, evading IDS/Firewall detection and breaching the network in no time. To understand the big picture, this paper analyses an approach to advanced persistent threat by doing the same things the bad guys do on a network setup. We will walk through various steps from foot-printing and reconnaissance, scanning networks, gaining access, maintaining access to finally clearing tracks, as in a real world attack. We will walk through different attack tools and exploits used in each phase and comparative study on their effectiveness, along with explaining their attack vectors and its countermeasures. We will conclude the paper by explaining the factors which actually qualify to be an Advance Persistent Threat.

Aslan, Ö, Samet, R..  2017.  Mitigating Cyber Security Attacks by Being Aware of Vulnerabilities and Bugs. 2017 International Conference on Cyberworlds (CW). :222–225.

Because the Internet makes human lives easier, many devices are connected to the Internet daily. The private data of individuals and large companies, including health-related data, user bank accounts, and military and manufacturing data, are increasingly accessible via the Internet. Because almost all data is now accessible through the Internet, protecting these valuable assets has become a major concern. The goal of cyber security is to protect such assets from unauthorized use. Attackers use automated tools and manual techniques to penetrate systems by exploiting existing vulnerabilities and software bugs. To provide good enough security; attack methodologies, vulnerability concepts and defence strategies should be thoroughly investigated. The main purpose of this study is to show that the patches released for existing vulnerabilities at the operating system (OS) level and in software programs does not completely prevent cyber-attack. Instead, producing specific patches for each company and fixing software bugs by being aware of the software running on each specific system can provide a better result. This study also demonstrates that firewalls, antivirus software, Windows Defender and other prevention techniques are not sufficient to prevent attacks. Instead, this study examines different aspects of penetration testing to determine vulnerable applications and hosts using the Nmap and Metasploit frameworks. For a test case, a virtualized system is used that includes different versions of Windows and Linux OS.
