Context and work environment
E-track is a start-up project with high potential in the navigation and geo-referencing market. As part of the technological maturation of the product, we are looking for a Post-Doc that will be integrated into the Gipsa-lab teams and can ideally join the start-up at the end of this period as associate or employee...
Gipsa-lab (Grenoble Images Parole Signal Automatic) is a joint research unit of CNRS, Grenoble- INP and University Grenoble Alpes; it is an agreement with INRIA and the Grenoble Observatory. Gipsa-lab is a multidisciplinary laboratory developing fundamental and finalized research on complex signals and systems. He is internationally recognized for his research in Automatic, Signal and Images, Speech and Cognition and develops projects in the strategic areas of energy, environment, communication, intelligent systems, health, etc. This UMR is developing its research through 12 teams organized in 3 departments: Automatic, Signal Images and Word-Cognition. It has 150 permanent staff (69 teacher-researchers, 38 CNRS researchers and 35 ITA and IAT) and about 250 non-permanent staff (PhD students, post- doctoral fellows, guest researchers, master student trainees ...).
The Post-Doc will be attached to the NeCS team of the Automatic department at Gipsa-lab and will also work with the Platforms and Projects Department composed of around twenty engineers and technicians. The post-doc will be placed under the responsibility of the teacher- researchers in charge of the project.
Mission
The Post-Doc provides the design of the hardware and software architecture of the geo- referencing module x, y, z. In particular, the Post-Doc will first establish a bibliographic study on the most relevant methods for positioning x, y, z with inertial units. He will then propose a functional / material architecture of the test model. Then, he will have to define the software architecture and develop the code which will make it possible to determine the position x, y, z (absolute), the heading (direction of displacement) as well as the distance traveled. Finally, it must validate this prototype in a representative environment and in an operational environment.
Expected skills
- Navigation, x, y, z positioning, control of inertial units, MEMS sensors
- To be autonomous and know how to take initiatives in its activities
- Ability to work in a team
- Ability to adapt to changing needs
Job specificities or special constraints
- Confidentiality agreement
