Description
The Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering invites applications for an open, full time Postdoctoral Scholar position. Prof. Zheng Zhang is collaborating with Prof. Yuan Xie's group on a joint NSF-sponsored project on AI hardware. The Postdoctoral Scholar will work on the hardware/software co-optimization of high-dimensional machine learning models (e.g., tensorized deep learning). The postdoc associate will: (1). conduct original scientific research; (2). publish and present research results in top-tier conferences and journals; (3). join collaborative meetings with our industrial partners. Apply by September 25, 2020 for primary consideration, however, the position will remain open until filled. The position is anticipated to start by November 01, 2020.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
Applicants must have completed all requirements for a PhD (or equivalent) in electrical engineering, computer science/engineering or physics, or related field.
ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS
PhD must be conferred by start of appointment
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Experience and independent research skills on algorithm acceleration on FPGA and/or embedded GPU, as demonstrated by previous publications, basic understanding of machine learning algorithms (e.g., training and inference) and basic understanding of tensor computation will be a plus but not necessary
