An effective way for manufacturers to tackle and outpace the increasing complexity of product designs and ever-shortening product lifecycles is to effectively develop and assist the workforce. Yet the current management of manufacturing workforce systems relies mostly on the traditional methods of data collection and modeling, such as subjective observations and after-the-fact statistics of workforce performance, which has reached a bottleneck in effectiveness.

Human-robot teams engaged in transportation and data collection will often share a common physical workspace. This project will investigate fundamental challenges in human-cyberphysical-systems (h-CPS) for cooperative aerial payload transport. First, Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs) cooperatively lift and carry a payload through a cluttered environment under uncertain winds. The multi-UAV system (MUS) functions autonomously to allow human companions to focus attention on their environment while interacting with the MUS.

In this poster, we overview a new enhanced neuromorphic computing concept by integrating ionic electrowetting with ionic liquid gating and demonstrate programmable fluidic transport, short term (STP) and long term potentiation (LTP), and de-potentiation of individual pixel elements. The platform consists of an integrated thin film transistor with an IGZO active layer whose transfer characteristics are modified when the IL is present (STP), and subsequent IL gating via the top-plate electrode enables electrochemical doping of the active layer for non-volatile LTP mimicry. While man

Effective integration of large amounts of renewable energy into the grid is of utmost importance for sustainable future and greener smart cities. Due to the unpredictable variations in weather, over 80% of the available renewable energy from solar and wind sources cannot be harnessed effectively.

Modern electric power grid is a complex, interconnected cyber physical system (CPS) that forms the lifeline of our society. Reliable, secure, and efficient operation of the grid are of paramount importance to national security and economic well-being. Recent trends in security indicate the increasing threat of cyber-based attacks, both in numbers and sophistication, on energy and other critical infrastructure systems of our nation and the world in general.

The sharp increase of e-commerce over the last few years has led to an augmentation in the volume of trucks both in ports and in commercial areas. Truck traffic has a negative impact on traffic flow in general, due to the size of trucks and their slower dynamics. The continuously increasing use of navigation apps has led drivers to make their routing decisions in an independent manner in an effort to minimize their own individual travel time, with possible significant deviation from a socially optimum solution.
