After the creation of the internet, the file sharing process has been changed. Several third-party applications have come to live for sharing and chatting purposes. A spammer can profit by these applications in different ways like, can achieve countless data, can acquire the user's personal information, and furthermore. Later that untrusted cloud storages are used for uploading a file even it is maintained by the third party If they use an untrusted cloud, there is a security problem. We need to give more security for file transfer in the defense-based organization. So, we developed a secure application for group member communication in a secure medium. The user belongs to a specific department from a specific group can access the data from the storage node and decrypt it. Every user in the group needs to register in the node to send or receive the data. Group Manager can restrict the access of the users in a Defense Network and he generates a user list, users in that list can only login to the node and share or download the files. We created a secure platform to upload files and share the data with multiple users by using Dynamic broadcasting Encryption. Users in the list can only download and decrypt the files from the storage node.

Persis, D. Jinil.  2019.  A Bi-objective Routing Model for Underwater Wireless Sensor Network. Proceedings of the 2019 3rd International Conference on Intelligent Systems, Metaheuristics & Swarm Intelligence. :78–82.
Underwater wireless communication is a critical and challenging research area wherein acoustic signals are used to transfer data. The Underwater Wireless Sensor Network (UWSN) is used to transmit data sensed by the sensors in the sea bed to the surface sinks through intermediate nodes for seismic surveillance, border security and underwater environment monitoring applications. The nodes comprising of UWSN are battery operated and are subjected to failures leading to connectivity loss. And the propagation delay in sending the data in the form of acoustic signals is found to be high and as the depth increases the transmission delay also increases. Hence, routing in UWSN is a complex problem. The simulation experiments of the delay sensitive protocols are found to minimize the delay at the expense of network throughput which is not acceptable. The energy aware routing protocols on the other hand reduces energy consumption and routing overhead but has high delay involved in transmission. In this study, transmission delay and reliability estimation models are developed using which bi-objective routing model is proposed considering both delay and reliability in route selection. In the simulation studies, the bi-objective model reduced delay on an average by 9% and the reliability of the network is improved by 34% when compared to the delay sensitive and reliable routing strategies.

Nielsen, C., Mathiesen, M., Nielsen, J., Jensen, L. C..  2019.  Changes in Heart Rate and Feeling of Safety When Led by a Rehabilitation Robot. 2019 14th ACM/IEEE International Conference on Human-Robot Interaction (HRI). :580—581.

Trust is an important topic in medical human-robot interaction, since patients may be more fragile than other groups of people. This paper investigates the issue of users' trust when interacting with a rehabilitation robot. In the study, we investigate participants' heart rate and perception of safety in a scenario when their arm is led by the rehabilitation robot in two types of exercises at three different velocities. The participants' heart rate are measured during each exercise and the participants are asked how safe they feel after each exercise. The results showed that velocity and type of exercise has no significant influence on the participants' heart rate, but they do have significant influence on how safe they feel. We found that increasing velocity and longer exercises negatively influence participants' perception of safety.

Zhu, Meng, Yang, Xudong.  2019.  Chinese Texts Classification System. 2019 IEEE 2nd International Conference on Information and Computer Technologies (ICICT). :149–152.
In this article, we designed an automatic Chinese text classification system aiming to implement a system for classifying news texts. We propose two improved classification algorithms as two different choices for users to choose and then our system uses the chosen method for the obtaining of the classified result of the input text. There are two improved algorithms, one is k-Bayes using hierarchy conception based on NB method in machine learning field and another one adds attention layer to the convolutional neural network in deep learning field. Through experiments, our results showed that improved classification algorithms had better accuracy than based algorithms and our system is useful for making classifying news texts more reasonably and effectively.

Gerking, Christopher, Schubert, David.  2019.  Component-Based Refinement and Verification of Information-Flow Security Policies for Cyber-Physical Microservice Architectures. 2019 IEEE International Conference on Software Architecture (ICSA). :61—70.

Since cyber-physical systems are inherently vulnerable to information leaks, software architects need to reason about security policies to define desired and undesired information flow through a system. The microservice architectural style requires the architects to refine a macro-level security policy into micro-level policies for individual microservices. However, when policies are refined in an ill-formed way, information leaks can emerge on composition of microservices. Related approaches to prevent such leaks do not take into account characteristics of cyber-physical systems like real-time behavior or message passing communication. In this paper, we enable the refinement and verification of information-flow security policies for cyber-physical microservice architectures. We provide architects with a set of well-formedness rules for refining a macro-level policy in a way that enforces its security restrictions. Based on the resulting micro-level policies, we present a verification technique to check if the real-time message passing of microservices is secure. In combination, our contributions prevent information leaks from emerging on composition. We evaluate the accuracy of our approach using an extension of the CoCoME case study.

Asmat, Nida, Qasim, Hafiz Syed Ahmed.  2019.  Conundrum-Pass: A New Graphical Password Approach. 2019 2nd International Conference on Communication, Computing and Digital systems (C-CODE). :282–287.
Graphical passwords are most widely used as a mechanism for authentication in today's mobile computing environment. This methodology was introduced to enhance security element and overcome the vulnerabilities of textual passwords, pins, or other trivial password methodologies which were difficult to remember and prone to external attacks. There are many graphical password schemes that are proposed over time, however, most of them suffer from shoulder surfing and could be easily guessed which is quite a big problem. The proposed technique in this paper allows the user to keep the ease-to-use property of the pattern lock while minimizing the risk of shoulder surfing and password guessing. The proposed technique allows the user to divide a picture into multiple chunks and while unlocking, selecting the previously defined chunks results successfully in unlocking the device. This technique can effectively resist the shoulder surfing and smudge attacks, also it is resilient to password guessing or dictionary attacks. The proposed methodology can significantly improve the security of the graphical password system with no cost increase in terms of unlocking time.

Xi, W., Suo, S., Cai, T., Jian, G., Yao, H., Fan, L..  2019.  A Design and Implementation Method of IPSec Security Chip for Power Distribution Network System Based on National Cryptographic Algorithms. 2019 IEEE 3rd Information Technology, Networking, Electronic and Automation Control Conference (ITNEC). :2307–2310.

The target of security protection of the power distribution automation system (the distribution system for short) is to ensure the security of communication between the distribution terminal (terminal for short) and the distribution master station (master system for short). The encryption and authentication gateway (VPN gateway for short) for distribution system enhances the network layer communication security between the terminal and the VPN gateway. The distribution application layer encryption authentication device (master cipher machine for short) ensures the confidentiality and integrity of data transmission in application layer, and realizes the identity authentication between the master station and the terminal. All these measures are used to prevent malicious damage and attack to the master system by forging terminal identity, replay attack and other illegal operations, in order to prevent the resulting distribution network system accidents. Based on the security protection scheme of the power distribution automation system, this paper carries out the development of multi-chip encapsulation, develops IPSec Protocols software within the security chip, and realizes dual encryption and authentication function in IP layer and application layer supporting the national cryptographic algorithm.

Nowadays, secure transmission of multimedia files has become more significant concern with the evolution of technologies. Cryptography is the well-known technique to safeguard the files from various destructive hacks. In this work, a colour image encryption scheme is suggested using chaos and Deoxyribo Nucleic Acid (DNA) coding. The encryption scheme is carried out in two stages namely confusion and diffusion. As the first stage, chaos aided inter-planar row and column shuffling are performed to shuffle the image pixels completely. DNA coding and decoding operations then diffuse the resultant confused image with the help of eight DNA XOR rules. This confusion-diffusion process has achieved the entropy value equal to 7.9973 and correlation coefficient nearer to zero with key space of 10140. Various other analyses are also done to ensure the effectiveness of the developed algorithm. The results show that the proposed scheme can withstand different attacks and better than the recent state-of-art methods.

Rashid, Rasber Dh., Majeed, Taban F..  2019.  Edge Based Image Steganography: Problems and Solution. 2019 International Conference on Communications, Signal Processing, and Their Applications (ICCSPA). :1–5.

Steganography means hiding secrete message in cover object in a way that no suspicious from the attackers, the most popular steganography schemes is image steganography. A very common questions that asked in the field are: 1- what is the embedding scheme used?, 2- where is (location) the secrete messages are embedded?, and 3- how the sender will tell the receiver about the locations of the secrete message?. Here in this paper we are deal with and aimed to answer questions number 2 and 3. We used the popular scheme in image steganography which is least significant bits for embedding in edges positions in color images. After we separate the color images into its components Red, Green, and Blue, then we used one of the components as an index to find the edges, while other one or two components used for embedding purpose. Using this technique we will guarantee the same number and positions of edges before and after embedding scheme, therefore we are guaranteed extracting the secrete message as it's without any loss of secrete messages bits.

Most of the swarm optimization techniques are inspired by the characteristics as well as behaviour of flock of birds whereas Artificial Bee Colony is based on the foraging characteristics of the bees. However, certain problems which are solved by ABC do not yield desired results in-terms of performance. ABC is a new devised swarm intelligence algorithm and predominately employed for optimization of numerical problems. The main reason for the success of ABC algorithm is that it consists of feature such as fathomable and flexibility when compared to other swarm optimization algorithms and there are many possible applications of ABC. Cloud computing has their limitation in their application and functionality. The cloud computing environment experiences several security issues such as Dos attack, replay attack, flooding attack. In this paper, an effective classifier is proposed based on Artificial Bee Colony for cloud computing. It is evident in the evaluation results that the proposed classifier achieved a higher accuracy rate.

The applications of Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) technology has been rapidly developed to be used in different fields that require automatic identification of objects and managing information. The advantage of employing RFID systems is to facilitate automatic identification of objects from distance without any interaction with tagged objects and without using a line of sight as compared with barcode. However, security and privacy constitute a challenge to RFID system as RFID systems use the wireless communication. Many researchers have introduced elliptical curve cryptographic (ECC) solutions to the security and privacy in RFID system as an ideal cryptosystem to be implemented with RFID technology. However, most of these solutions do not have provide adequate protection. Moreover, in terms of integrity and confidentiality level, most of these authentication protocols still vulnerable to some of security and privacy attacks. Based on these facts, this paper proposes a mutual authentication protocol that aims at enhancing an existing RFID authentication protocol that suffers from tracking attack and man-in-the-middle attack (MITM). The enhancement is accomplished by improving the security and privacy level against MITM, tracking attack and other related attacks. The proposed protocol is dependent on use the elliptical curve version of Schnorr identification protocol in combination with Keccak hash function. This combination leads to enhance the confidentiality and integrity level of the RFID authentication system and increase the privacy protection.

Distributed Denial of Service(DDoS) attacks have become most important network security threat as the number of devices are connected to internet increases exponentially and reaching an attack volume approximately very high compared to other attacks. To make the network safe and flexible a new networking infrastructure such as Software Defined Networking (SDN) has come into effect, which relies on centralized controller and decoupling of control and data plane. However due to it's centralized controller it is prone to DDoS attacks, as it makes the decision of forwarding of packets based on rules installed in switch by OpenFlow protocol. Out of all different DDoS attacks, UDP (User Datagram Protocol) flooding constitute the most in recent years. In this paper, we have proposed an entropy based DDoS detection and rate limiting based mitigation for efficient service delivery. We have evaluated using Mininet as emulator and Ryu as controller by taking switch as OpenVswitch and obtained better result in terms of bandwidth utilization and hit ratio which consume network resources to make denial of service.

Nataliani, Yessica, Yang, Miin-Shen.  2019.  Feature-Weighted Fuzzy K-Modes Clustering. Proceedings of the 2019 3rd International Conference on Intelligent Systems, Metaheuristics & Swarm Intelligence. :63–68.
Fuzzy k-modes (FKM) are variants of fuzzy c-means used for categorical data. The FKM algorithms generally treat feature components with equal importance. However, in clustering process, different feature weights need to be assigned for feature components because some irrelevant features may degrade the performance of the FKM algorithms. In this paper, we propose a novel algorithm, called feature-weighted fuzzy k-modes (FW-FKM), to improve FKM with a feature-weight entropy term such that it can automatically compute different feature weights for categorical data. Some numerical and real data sets are used to compare FW-FKM with some existing methods in the literature. Experimental results and comparisons actually demonstrate these good aspects of the proposed FW-FKM with its effectiveness and usefulness in practice.

Almohaimeed, Abdulrahman, Asaduzzaman, Abu.  2019.  Incorporating Monitoring Points in SDN to Ensure Trusted Links Against Misbehaving Traffic Flows. 2019 Fifth Conference on Mobile and Secure Services (MobiSecServ). :1–4.

The growing trend toward information technology increases the amount of data travelling over the network links. The problem of detecting anomalies in data streams has increased with the growth of internet connectivity. Software-Defined Networking (SDN) is a new concept of computer networking that can adapt and support these growing trends. However, the centralized nature of the SDN design is challenged by the need for an efficient method for traffic monitoring against traffic anomalies caused by misconfigured devices or ongoing attacks. In this paper, we propose a new model for traffic behavior monitoring that aims to ensure trusted communication links between the network devices. The main objective of this model is to confirm that the behavior of the traffic streams matches the instructions provided by the SDN controller, which can help to increase the trust between the SDN controller and its covered infrastructure components. According to our preliminary implementation, the behavior monitoring unit is able to read all traffic information and perform a validation process that reports any mismatching traffic to the controller.

This paper proposes an intelligent functional architecture for an advanced launch site system that is composed of five parts: the intelligent technical area, the intelligent launching region, the intelligent flight and landing area, the intelligent command and control system, and the intelligent analysis assessment system. The five parts consist of the infrastructure, facilities, equipment, hardware and software and thus include the whole mission processes of ground and launch systems from flight articles' entry to launch. The architectural framework is designed for the intelligent elements of the parts. The framework is also defined as the interrelationship and the interface of the elements, including the launch vehicle and flight payloads. Based on the Internet of Things (IoT), the framework is integrated on four levels: the physical layer, the perception layer, the network layer, and the application layer. The physical layer includes the physical objects and actuators of the launch site. The perception layer consists of the sensors and data processing system. The network layer supplies the access gateways and backbone network. The application layer serves application systems through the middleware platform. The core of the intelligent system is the controller of the automatic control system crossing the four layers. This study builds the models of the IoT, cloud platform, middleware, integrated access gateway, and automatic control system for actual ground and launch systems. A formal approach describes and defines the architecture, models and autonomous control flows in the paper. The defined models describe the physical objects, intelligent elements, interface relations, status transformation functions, etc. The test operation and launch processes are connected with the intelligent system model. This study has been applied to an individual mission project and achieved good results. The architecture and the models of this study regulate the relationship between the elements of the intelligent system. The study lays a foundation for the architectural construction, the simulation and the verification of the intelligent systems at the launch site.

While the general idea of Intelligent Transportation System (ITS) is to employ suitable, sophisticated information and communications technologies, however, such tool also encompass many system complexities. Fittingly, this paper aims to highlight the most contemporary system complications of ITS and in doing so, will also underline the safety, security and risk management concerns. More importantly, effectively treating such issues will ultimately improve the reliability and efficiency of transportation systems. Whereas such issues are among the most significant subjects for any intelligent system, for ITS in particular they the most dominant. For such intelligent systems, the safety, security and risk management issues must not only be decidedly prioritized, but also methodically integrated. As a part of such ITS integration, this paper will delicately examine the Emergency Management System (EMS) development and application. Accurate EMS is not only a mandatory feature of intelligent systems, but it is a fundamental component of ITS which will vigilantly respond to safety, security and risk management apprehensions. To further substantiate such scheme, the Sydney Metro's EMS will be also conferred. It was determined that, the Sydney Metro's EMS although highly advanced, it was also vigilantly aligned with specific designated safety, security and risk management strategies.

Human's direct supervision on robot's erroneous behavior is crucial to enhance a robot intelligence for a `flawless' human-robot interaction. Motivating humans to engage more actively for this purpose is however difficult. To alleviate such strain, this research proposes a novel approach, a growth and regression metaphoric interaction design inspired from human's communicative, intellectual, social competence aspect of developmental stages. We implemented the interaction design principle unto a conversational agent combined with a set of synthetic sensors. Within this context, we aim to show that the agent successfully encourages the online labeling activity in response to the faulty behavior of robots as a supervision process. The field study is going to be conducted to evaluate the efficacy of our proposal by measuring the annotation performance of real-time activity events in the wild. We expect to provide a more effective and practical means to supervise robot by real-time data labeling process for long-term usage in the human-robot interaction.

Jyothi, R., Cholli, Nagaraj G..  2019.  New Approach to Secure Cluster Heads in Wireless Sensor Networks. 2019 5th International Conference on Advanced Computing Communication Systems (ICACCS). :1097–1101.
This Wireless Sensor Network is a network of devices that communicates the information gathered from a monitored field through wireless links. Small size sensor nodes constitute wireless sensor networks. A Sensor is a device that responds and detects some type of input from both the physical or environmental conditions, such as pressure, heat, light, etc. Applications of wireless sensor networks include home automation, street lighting, military, healthcare and industrial process monitoring. As wireless sensor networks are distributed across large geographical area, these are vulnerable to various security threats. This affects the performance of the wireless sensor networks. The impact of security issues will become more critical if the network is used for mission-critical applications like tactical battlefield. In real life deployment scenarios, the probability of failure of nodes is more. As a result of resource constraints in the sensor nodes, traditional methods which involve large overhead computation and communication are not feasible in WSNs. Hence, design and deployment of secured WSNs is a challenging task. Attacks on WSNs include attack on confidentiality, integrity and availability. There are various types of architectures that are used to deploy WSNs. Some of them are data centric, hierarchical, location based, mobility based etc. This work discusses the security issue of hierarchical architecture and proposes a solution. In hierarchical architectures, sensor nodes are grouped to form clusters. Intra-cluster communication happens through cluster heads. Cluster heads also facilitate inter-cluster communication with other cluster heads. Aggregation of data generated by sensor nodes is done by cluster heads. Aggregated data also get transferred to base through multi-hop approach in most cases. Cluster heads are vulnerable to various malicious attacks and this greatly affects the performance of the wireless sensor network. The proposed solution identifies attacked cluster head and changes the CH by identifying the fittest node using genetic algorithm based search.

Pervasive systems over the years continuous to grow exponentially. Engagement of IoT in fields such as Agriculture, Home automation, industrial applications etc is on the rise. Self organizing networks within the IoT field give rise to engagement of various nodes for data communication. The rise in Cyber-attacks within IoT pose a lot of threat to these connected nodes and hence there is a need for data passing through nodes to be verified during communication. In this paper we proposed a nodal authentication approach in IoT using blockchain in securing the integrity of data passing through the nodes in IoT. In our work, we engaged the GOST algorithm in our approach. At the end, we achieved a nodal authentication and verification of the transmitted data. This makes it very difficult for an attacker to fake a node in the communication chain of the connected nodes. Data integrity was achieved in the nodes during the communication.

A Unique Object (UNO) is a physical object with unique characteristics that can be measured externally. The usually analogue measurement can be converted into a digital representation - a fingerprint - which uniquely identifies the object. For practical applications it is necessary that measurements can be performed without the need of specialist equipment or complex measurement setup. Furthermore, a UNO should be able to defeat simulation attacks; an attacker may replace the UNO with a device or system that produces the expected measurement. Recently a novel type of UNOs based on Quantum Dots (QDs) and exhibiting unique photo-luminescence properties has been proposed. The uniqueness of these UNOs is based on quantum effects that can be interrogated using a light source and a camera. The so called Quantum Confinement UNO (QCUNO) responds uniquely to different light excitation levels which is exploited for simulation attack protection, as opposed to focusing on features too small to reproduce and therefore difficult to measure. In this paper we describe methods for extraction of fingerprints from the QCUNO. We evaluate our proposed methods using 46 UNOs in a controlled setup. Focus of the evaluation are entropy, error resilience and the ability to detect simulation attacks.
