FACULTY OF ENGINEERING, BUILT ENVIRONMENT AND INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY
DEPARTMENT OF COMPUTER SCIENCE SENIOR LECTURER / ASSOCIATE PROFESSOR /
PROFESSOR (ONE POST)

RESPONSIBILITIES:

The incumbent will be responsible for:

  • Active participation and leadership in the research agenda of the Department;
  • Undergraduate and postgraduate teaching in Computer Science;
  • Departmental administrative tasks.


MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

Senior Lecturer:

  • A Doctorate in Computer Science;
  • Publications in accredited journals and conferences;
  • Active engagement as a researcher in a research focus area of the Department of Computer Science, with a proven research record;
  • Lecturing experience in Computer Science;
  • Active in postgraduate supervision.


Associate Professor:

  • A Doctorate in Computer Science;
  • Publications in accredited journals and conferences;
  • Active engagement as a researcher in a research focus area of the Department of Computer Science, with a proven research record;
  • Lecturing experience in Computer Science;
  • Extensive postgraduate supervision.


Professor: (Same as for Associate Professor, plus)

  • International recognition as a researcher, playing a leadership role in the discipline.


The annual remuneration package will be commensurate with the
incumbent's level of appointment, as determined by UP policy guidelines.

UP subscribes to the BESTMED medical aid scheme and contributes 50% of
the applicable monthly premium.
