This paper proposes the design of a security policy translator in Interface to Network Security Functions (I2NSF) framework. Also, this paper shows the benefits of designing security policy translations. I2NSF is an architecture for providing various Network Security Functions (NSFs) to users. I2NSF user should be able to use NSF even if user has no overall knowledge of NSFs. Generally, policies which are generated by I2NSF user contain abstract data because users do not consider the attributes of NSFs when creating policies. Therefore, the I2NSF framework requires a translator that automatically finds the NSFs which is required for policy when Security Controller receives a security policy from the user and translates it for selected NSFs. We satisfied the above requirements by modularizing the translator through Automata theory.
Data dependency flow have been reformulated as Context Free Grammar (CFG) reachability problem, and the idea was explored in detection of some web vulnerabilities, particularly Cross Site Scripting (XSS) and Access Control. However, reformulation of SQL Injection Vulnerability (SQLIV) detection as grammar reachability problem has not been investigated. In this paper, concepts of data dependency flow was used to reformulate SQLIVs detection as a CFG reachability problem. The paper, consequently defines reachability analysis strategy for SQLIVs detection.
The concept of cyber-physical production systems is highly discussed amongst researchers and industry experts, however, the implementation options for these systems rely mainly on obsolete technologies. Despite the fact that the blockchain is most often associated with cryptocurrency, it is fundamentally wrong to deny the universality of this technology and the prospects for its application in other industries. For example, in the insurance sector or in a number of identity verification services. This article discusses the deployment of the CPPS backbone network based on the Ethereum private blockchain system. The structure of the network is described as well as its interaction with the help of smart contracts, based on the consumption of cryptocurrency for various operations.
The factors that threaten electric power information network are analyzed. Aiming at the weakness of being unable to provide numerical value of risk, this paper presents the evaluation index system, the evaluation model and method of network security based on multilevel fuzzy comprehensive judgment. The steps and method of security evaluation by the synthesis evaluation model are provided. The results show that this method is effective to evaluate the risk of electric power information network.
For over two decades the OpenPGP format has provided the mainstay of email confidentiality and authenticity, and is currently being relied upon to provide authenticated package distributions in open source Unix systems. In this work, we provide the first language theoretical analysis of the OpenPGP format, classifying it as a deterministic context free language and establishing that an automatically generated parser can in principle be defined. However, we show that the number of rules required to describe it with a deterministic context free grammar is prohibitively high, and we identify security vulnerabilities in the OpenPGP format specification. We identify possible attacks aimed at tampering with messages and certificates while retaining their syntactical and semantical validity. We evaluate the effectiveness of these attacks against the two OpenPGP implementations covering the overwhelming majority of uses, i.e., the GNU Privacy Guard (GPG) and Symantec PGP. The results of the evaluation show that both implementations turn out not to be vulnerable due to conser- vative choices in dealing with malicious input data. Finally, we provide guidelines to improve the OpenPGP specification
We present in this paper a security analysis of electronic devices which considers the lifecycle properties of embedded systems. We first define a generic model of electronic devices lifecycle showing the complex interactions between the numerous assets and the actors. The method is illustrated through a case study: a connected insulin pump. The lifecycle induced vulnerabilities are analyzed using the EBIOS methodology. An analysis of associated countermeasures points out the lack of consideration of the life cycle in order to provide an acceptable security level of each assets of the device.
Content Security Policy is a mechanism designed to prevent the exploitation of XSS – the most common high-risk web application flaw. CSP restricts which scripts can be executed by allowing developers to define valid script sources; an attacker with a content-injection flaw should not be able to force the browser to execute arbitrary malicious scripts. Currently, CSP is commonly used in conjunction with domain-based script whitelist, where the existence of a single unsafe endpoint in the script whitelist effectively removes the value of the policy as a protection against XSS ( some examples ).
This paper presents a contextual anomaly detection method and its use in the discovery of malicious voltage control actions in the low voltage distribution grid. The model-based anomaly detection uses an artificial neural network model to identify a distributed energy resource's behaviour under control. An intrusion detection system observes distributed energy resource's behaviour, control actions and the power system impact, and is tested together with an ongoing voltage control attack in a co-simulation set-up. The simulation results obtained with a real photovoltaic rooftop power plant data show that the contextual anomaly detection performs on average 55% better in the control detection and over 56% better in the malicious control detection over the point anomaly detection.

It integrates a series of innovative technologies, including the IoT sensing physical system, industrial cloud platform for data management, model-driven and big data driven analysis & decision making, standardization & securitization intelligent control and management, as well as visual monitoring and backtracking process etc. The main relevant control models are studied. The applications of real-time accurate perception & intelligent decision technology in the aluminum electrolytic industry are introduced.
Food safety policies have aim to promote and develop feeding and nutrition in society. This paper presents a system dynamics model that studies the dynamic behavior between transport infrastructure and the food supply chain in the city of Bogotá. The results show that an adequate transport infrastructure is more effective to improve the service to the customer in the food supply chain. The system dynamics model allows analyze the behavior of transport infrastructure and supply chains of fruits and vegetables, groceries, meat and dairy. The study has gone some way towards enhancing our understanding of food security impact, food supply chain and transport infrastructure.
Cyber-physical systems combine data processing and physical interaction. Therefore, security in cyber-physical systems involves more than traditional information security. This paper surveys recent research on security in cloud-based cyber-physical systems. In addition, this paper especially analyzes the security issues in modern production devices and smart mobility services, which are examples of cyber-physical systems from different application domains.
One Time Password which is fixed length strings to perform authentication in electronic media is used as a one-time. In this paper, One Time Password production methods which based on hash functions were investigated. Keccak digest algorithm was used for the production of One Time Password. This algorithm has been selected as the latest standards for hash algorithm in October 2012 by National Instute of Standards and Technology. This algorithm is preferred because it is faster and safer than the others. One Time Password production methods based on hash functions is called Hashing-Based Message Authentication Code structure. In these structures, the key value is using with the hash function to generate the Hashing-Based Message Authentication Code value. Produced One Time Password value is based on the This value. In this application, the length of the value One Time Password was the eight characters to be useful in practice.
We propose that to address the growing problems with complexity and data volumes in HPC security wee need to refactor how we look at data by creating tools that not only select data, but analyze and represent it in a manner well suited for intuitive analysis. We propose a set of rules describing what this means, and provide a number of production quality tools that represent our current best effort in implementing these ideas.
