Job Purpose
Teach courses, perform research, and fulfill service mission for the Department of Computer Science.
Essential Functions
Teach undergraduate courses in core areas including programming, data structures, algorithms, and databases, and specialization areas including software engineering, cybersecurity, data science, or distributed/cloud/high performance computing. Engage in scholarly activities in one of the aforementioned specialization areas; serve on departmental committees and engage in other service activities.
Minimum Qualifications
Earned M.S. from an accredited institution in computer science or a closely related field by the start date of employment. Ability for teaching excellence at the undergraduate and graduate levels. Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
Preferred Qualifications
Ph.D. degree or completion of all coursework (ABD) from an accredited institution in computer science. Relevant teaching and research experience. Industrial experience. Potential to develop and conduct externally funded research. Engagement in scholarly activities as demonstrated by peer-reviewed journal and conference publications.
Compensation and Benefits
Salary Commensurate with education and experience. This is a one year temporary non-tenure-track appointment to begin August 1, 2018, and renewable based on satisfactory annual reviews, the needs of the department, and future funding.
