AbstractThis paper presents an energy consumption model of the sensor nodes in TDMA wireless mesh sensor network using merged data collecting (MDC) methods. Defining the energy consumption of the nodes in wireless mesh networks is crucial for battery lifetime estimation. In this paper, we describe the semiempirical model of the energy consumption of MDC method in the TDMA mesh sensor networks using flooding routing. In the model the low-level constraints are based on the measured energy consumption of the sensor nodes in the different operation phases.
