AbstractThe expansion of the internet has resulted in huge growth in every industry. It does, however, have a substantial impact on the downsides. Because of the internet's rapid growth, personally identifiable information (PII) should be kept secure in the coming years. Obtaining someone's personal information is rather simple nowadays. There are some established methods for keeping our personal information private. Further, it is essential because we must provide our identity cards to someone for every verification step. In this paper, we will look at some of the attempted methods for protecting our identities. We will highlight the research gaps and potential future enhancements in the research for more enhanced security based on our literature review.
