Wei Zhao completed his undergraduate studies at Shaanxi Normal University, China, in 1977, and then received his MSc and PhD degrees in Computer and Information Sciences at the University of Massachusetts at Amherst, USA in 1983 and 1986, respectively. In 2008, Professor Zhao was appointed as the 8th Rector for the University of Macau.

Visible to the public Connected Highway and Vehicle Systems on Interstate 66

As reported by the local CSB affiliate in Washington, DC, Virginia DOT installed a "living laboratory" for connected infrastructure and vehicle technoloigy on Interstate 66. The USDOT is working with the State, Virginia Tech, and others on the development of the system.

The Intel Capital Connected Car Fund is investing $100 million over the next five years to accelerate the seamless connection between the vehicle and consumer electronic devices as well as drive new in-vehicle applications, services and differentiated user experiences based on Intel technologies.
