Chedurupalli, Shivakumar, Karthik Reddy, K, Akhil Raman, T S, James Raju, K.C.  2022.  High Overtone Bulk Acoustic Resonator with improved effective coupling coefficient. 2022 IEEE International Symposium on Applications of Ferroelectrics (ISAF). :1—4.
A High Overtone Bulk Acoustic Wave Resonator (HBAR) is fabricated with the active material being Ba0.5Sr0.5TiO3 (BST). Owing to its strong electrostrictive property, the BST needs an external dc voltage to yield an electromechanical coupling. The variations in resonances with respect to varying dc fields are noted and analyzed with the aid of an Resonant Spectrum Method (RSM) model. Effective coupling coefficient \$(\textbackslashmathrmK\_\textbackslashmathrme\textbackslashmathrmf\textbackslashmathrmfˆ2(%))\$ in the case of employed MIM based structure is observed and the comparisons are drawn with the corresponding values of the CPC structures. An improvement of 70% in the value of \$\textbackslashmathrmK\_\textbackslashmathrme\textbackslashmathrmf\textbackslashmathrmfˆ2\$(%)at 1.34 GHz is witnessed in MIM structures because of direct access to the bottom electrode of the structure.

Although the public cloud is known for its incredible capabilities, consumers cannot totally depend on cloud service providers to keep personal data because to the lack of client maneuverability. To protect privacy, data controllers outsourced encryption keys rather than providing information. Crypt - text to conduct out okay and founder access control and provide the encryption keys with others, innate quality Aes (CP-ABE) may be employed. This, however, falls short of effectively protecting against new dangers. The public cloud was unable to validate if a downloader could decode using a number of older methods. Therefore, these files should be accessible to everyone having access to a data storage. A malicious attacker may download hundreds of files in order to launch Economic Deny of Sustain (EDoS) attacks, greatly depleting the cloud resource. The user of cloud storage is responsible for paying the fee. Additionally, the public cloud serves as both the accountant and the payer of resource consumption costs, without offering data owners any information. Cloud infrastructure storage should assuage these concerns in practice. In this study, we provide a technique for resource accountability and defense against DoS attacks for encrypted cloud storage tanks. It uses black-box CP-ABE techniques and abides by the access policy of CP-arbitrary ABE. After presenting two methods for different parameters, speed and security evaluations are given.

With the rise of IoT applications, about 20.4 billion devices will be online in 2020, and that number will rise to 75 billion a month by 2025. Different sensors in IoT devices let them get and process data remotely and in real time. Sensors give them information that helps them make smart decisions and manage IoT environments well. IoT Security is one of the most important things to think about when you're developing, implementing, and deploying IoT platforms. People who use the Internet of Things (IoT) say that it allows people to communicate, monitor, and control automated devices from afar. This paper shows how to use Deep learning and machine learning to make an IDS that can be used on IoT platforms as a service. In the proposed method, a cnn mapped the features, and a random forest classifies normal and attack classes. In the end, the proposed method made a big difference in all performance parameters. Its average performance metrics have gone up 5% to 6%.

Khelifi, Hakima, Belouahri, Amani.  2022.  The Impact of Big Data Analytics on Traffic Prediction. 2022 International Conference on Advanced Aspects of Software Engineering (ICAASE). :1–6.
The Internet of Vehicles (IoVs) performs the rapid expansion of connected devices. This massive number of devices is constantly generating a massive and near-real-time data stream for numerous applications, which is known as big data. Analyzing such big data to find, predict, and control decisions is a critical solution for IoVs to enhance service quality and experience. Thus, the main goal of this paper is to study the impact of big data analytics on traffic prediction in IoVs. In which we have used big data analytics steps to predict the traffic flow, and based on different deep neural models such as LSTM, CNN-LSTM, and GRU. The models are validated using evaluation metrics, MAE, MSE, RMSE, and R2. Hence, a case study based on a real-world road is used to implement and test the efficiency of the traffic prediction models.

Security in the communication systems rely mainly on a trusted Public Key Infrastructure (PKI) and Certificate Authorities (CAs). Besides the lack of automation, the complexity and the cost of assigning a signed certificate to a device, several allegations against CAs have been discovered, which has created trust issues in adopting this standard model for secure systems. The automation of the servers certificate assignment was achieved by the Automated Certificate Management Environment (ACME) method, but without confirming the trust of assigned certificate. This paper presents a complete tested and implemented solution to solve the trust of the Certificates provided to the servers by using the blockchain platform for certificate validation. The Blockchain network provides an immutable data store, holding the public keys of all domain names, while resolving the trust concerns by applying an automated Blockchain-based Domain Control Validation (B-DCV) for the server and client server verification. The evaluation was performed on the Ethereum Rinkeby testnet adopting the Proof of Authority (PoA) consensus algorithm which is an improved version of Proof of Stake (Po \$S\$) applied on Ethereum 2.0 providing superior performance compared to Ethereum 1.0.

Cloud computing plays major role in the development of accessing clouduser’s document and sensitive information stored. It has variety of content and representation. Cyber security and attacks in the cloud is a challenging aspect. Information security attains a vital part in Cyber Security management. It involves actions intended to reduce the adverse impacts of such incidents. To access the documents stored in cloud safely and securely, access control will be introduced based on cloud users to access the user’s document in the cloud. To achieve this, it is highly required to combine security components (e.g., Access Control, Usage Control) in the security document to get automatic information. This research work has proposed a Role Key Homomorphic Encryption Algorithm (RKHEA) to monitor the cloud users, who access the services continuously. This method provides access creation of session-based key to store the singularized encryption to reduce the key size from random methods to occupy memory space. It has some terms and conditions to be followed by the cloud users and also has encryption method to secure the document content. Hence the documents are encrypted with the RKHEA algorithm based on Service Key Access (SKA). Then, the encrypted key will be created based on access control conditions. The proposed analytics result shows an enhanced control over the documents in cloud and improved security performance.

In this paper we present techniques for enhancing the security of south bound infrastructure in SDN which includes OpenFlow switches and end hosts. In particular, the proposed security techniques have three main goals: (i) validation and secure configuration of flow rules in the OpenFlow switches by trusted SDN controller in the domain; (ii) securing the flows from the end hosts; and (iii) detecting attacks on the switches by malicious entities in the SDN domain. We have implemented the proposed security techniques as an application for ONOS SDN controller. We have also validated our application by detecting various OpenFlow switch specific attacks such as malicious flow rule insertions and modifications in the switches over a mininet emulated network.

The present industrial scenario requires frequent transfer of data between remote servers and on premise devices and hence the risk of attacks on these data cannot be overlooked. Such security risk is even aggravated in case of sensitive information being compromised due to inefficient security implementations. Various forms of security implementations are being discussed and experimented for the same. With the introduction of devices with better processing capabilities, Public Key Infrastructure is a very popular technique being widely implemented, wherein symmetric and asymmetric key based encryptions are used inorder to secure the data being transferred and it has proven to be an effective technique. The PKI however suffers certain drawbacks and it is evident from the attacks. A system specifically designed for scenarios such as a factory having a centralised device management system requiring multiple devices to communicate and upload data safely to server is being put forward in this paper.

Pairings on elliptic curves are used for innovative protocols such as ID-based encryption and zk-SNARKs. To make the pairings secure, it is important to consider the STNFS which is the special number field sieve algorithm for discrete logarithms in the finite field. The Fotiadis-Konstantinou curve with embedding degree 12(FK12), is known as one of the STNFS secure curves. To an efficient pairing on the FK12 curve, there are several previous works that focus on final exponentiation. The one is based on lattice-based method to decompose the hard part of final exponentiation and addition chain. However, there is a possibility to construct a more efficient calculation algorithm by using the relations appeared in the decomposition calculation algorithm than that of the previous work. In this manuscript, the authors propose a relation of the decomposition and verify the effectiveness of the proposed method from the execution time.

Leiko, Oleksandr, Derepa, Anatolii, Pozdniakova, Olha, Kocharian, Oksana.  2022.  On the Influence of the Acoustic Interaction of Cylindrical Piezoceramic Radiators in Planar Systems on their Physical Fields. 2022 IEEE 41st International Conference on Electronics and Nanotechnology (ELNANO). :617—622.
Recently, in solving problems of sound radiation by systems of piezoceramic radiators, new approaches have emerged, which make it possible to significantly approximate the design parameters of systems to the actually measured ones. These approaches are associated with taking into account the specific features of these systems performing two functions - the function of converting electrical energy into acoustic energy and the function of forming the latter in the surrounding space. The peculiarity of the first function is the interconnection of the electric, mechanical and acoustic fields during energy conversion. The peculiarity of the second function is the interaction of the radiators in the system during the formation of its acoustic field. The aim of the work is to study the effect of acoustic interaction of cylindrical piezoceramic radiators in the composition of flat systems on their physical fields. Using the method of coupled fields in multiply connected domains, using the addition theorems for cylindrical wave functions, we obtain analytical relations that allow one to calculate the numerical results for the parameters of three interconnected physical fields that ensure the emission of sound by plane systems. Their analysis showed that with the radial symmetry of electrical excitation of cylindrical radiators, the conversion of electrical energy into mechanical energy is carried out on one - zero mode of oscillation. The placement of the radiators in the composition of the flat systems leads to the appearance of the effect of acoustic interaction between them in an external field, due to the multiple exchange of radiated and scattered waves. This effect destroys the radial symmetry of the acoustic loading of a single radiator. The violation of symmetry in the conversion of mechanical energy into acoustic energy leads to the appearance of oscillations that follow the zero mode. As a result, there is an effective redistribution of energy “pumped” into the radiators in the zero mode, between subsequent oscillations of the radiators. In turn, the emergence of new modes changes the acoustic field of a flat system. The results show the need to take into account the above features of the physical fields of the radiators in the composition of flat systems when choosing methods and developing methods for measuring field characteristics.

Akshara Vemuri, Sai, Krishna Chaitanya, Gogineni.  2022.  Insider Attack Detection and Prevention using Server Authentication using Elgamal Encryption. 2022 International Conference on Inventive Computation Technologies (ICICT). :967—972.
Web services are growing demand with fundamental advancements and have given more space to researchers for improving security of all real world applications. Accessing and get authenticated in many applications on web services, user discloses their password and other privacy data to the server for authentication purposes. These shared information should be maintained by the server with high security, otherwise it can be used for illegal purposes for any authentication breach. Protecting the applications from various attacks is more important. Comparing the security threats, insider attacks are most challenging to identify due to the fact that they use the authentication of legitimate users and their privileges to access the application and may cause serious threat to the application. Insider attacks has been studied in previous researchers with different security measures, however there is no much strong work proposed. Various security protocols were proposed for defending insider attackers. The proposed work focused on insider attack protection through Elgamal cryptography technique. The proposed work is much effective on insider attacks and also defends against various attacks. The proposed protocol is better than existing works. The key computation cost and communication cost is relatively low in this proposed work. The proposed work authenticates the application by parallel process of two way authentication mechanism through Elgamal algorithm.

Kersten, Leon, Burda, Pavlo, Allodi, Luca, Zannone, Nicola.  2022.  Investigating the Effect of Phishing Believability on Phishing Reporting. 2022 IEEE European Symposium on Security and Privacy Workshops (EuroS&PW). :117–128.
Phishing emails are becoming more and more sophisticated, making current detection techniques ineffective. The reporting of phishing emails from users is, thus, crucial for organizations to detect phishing attacks and mitigate their effect. Despite extensive research on how the believability of a phishing email affects detection rates, there is little to no research about the relationship between the believability of a phishing email and the associated reporting rate. In this work, we present a controlled experiment with 446 subjects to evaluate how the reporting rate of a phishing email is linked to its believability and detection rate. Our results show that the reporting rate decreases as the believability of the email increases and that around half of the subjects who detect the mail as phishing, have an intention to report the email. However, the group intending to report an email is not a subset of the group detecting the mail as phishing, suggesting that reporting is still a concept misunderstood by many.

Al Rahbani, Rani, Khalife, Jawad.  2022.  IoT DDoS Traffic Detection Using Adaptive Heuristics Assisted With Machine Learning. 2022 10th International Symposium on Digital Forensics and Security (ISDFS). :1—6.
DDoS is a major issue in network security and a threat to service providers that renders a service inaccessible for a period of time. The number of Internet of Things (IoT) devices has developed rapidly. Nevertheless, it is proven that security on these devices is frequently disregarded. Many detection methods exist and are mostly focused on Machine Learning. However, the best method has not been defined yet. The aim of this paper is to find the optimal volumetric DDoS attack detection method by first comparing different existing machine learning methods, and second, by building an adaptive lightweight heuristics model relying on few traffic attributes and simple DDoS detection rules. With this new simple model, our goal is to decrease the classification time. Finally, we compare machine learning methods with our adaptive new heuristics method which shows promising results both on the accuracy and performance levels.

Even as Internet of Things (IoT) network security grows, concerns about the security of IoT devices have arisen. Although a few companies produce IP-connected gadgets for such ranging from small office, their security policies and implementations are often weak. They also require firmware updates or revisions to boost security and reduce vulnerabilities in equipment. A brownfield advance is necessary to verify systems where these helpless devices are present: putting in place basic security mechanisms within the system to render the system powerless possibly. Gadgets should cohabit without threatening their security in the same device. IoT network security has evolved into a platform that can segregate a large number of IoT devices, allowing law enforcement to compel the communication of defenseless devices in order to reduce the damage done by its unlawful transaction. IoT network security appears to be doable in well-known gadget types and can be deployed with minimum transparency.

Wireless-fidelity (Wi-Fi) and Bluetooth are examples of modern wireless communication technologies that employ radio waves as the primary channel for data transmission. but it ought to find alternatives over the limitation and interference in the radio frequency (RF) band. For viable alternatives, visible light communication (VLC) technology comes to play as Light Fidelity (Li-Fi) which uses visible light as a channel for delivering very high-speed communication in a Wi-Fi way. In terms of availability, bandwidth, security and efficiency, Li-Fi is superior than Wi-Fi. In this paper, we present a Li-Fi-based indoor communication system. prototype model has been proposed for single user scenario using visible light portion of electromagnetic spectrum. This system has been designed for audio data communication in between the users in transmitter and receiver sections. LED and photoresistor have been used as optical source and receiver respectively. The electro-acoustic transducer provides the required conversion of electrical-optical signal in both ways. This system might overcome problems like radio-frequency bandwidth scarcity However, its major problem is that it only works when it is pointed directly at the target.

The machine learning models used to predict heart disease are Logistic Regression, K - Nearest Neighbor, Support Vector Machine, Naive Bayes, Decision Tree, Random Forest and XG Boost. Timely and efficient detection of heart disease plays an important role in health care. It is essential to detect cardiovascular disease (CVD) at the earliest, consult a specialist doctor before the severity of the disease and start medication. The performance of the proposed model was assessed using the Cleveland Heart Disease dataset from the UCI Machine Learning Repository. Compared to all machine learning algorithms, the Random Forest algorithm shows a better performance accuracy score of 90.16%. The best model may evaluate patient fitness rather than routine hospital visits. The proposed work will reduce the burden on hospitals and help hospitals reach only critical patients.

Webb, Susan J., Knight, Jasper, Grab, Stefan, Enslin, Stephanie, Hunt, Hugh, Maré, Leonie.  2022.  Magnetic evidence for lightning strikes on mountains in Lesotho as an important denudation agent. 2022 36th International Conference on Lightning Protection (ICLP). :500–503.
Contrary to previous opinion, ‘frost shattering’ is not the only major contributor to rock weathering at mid latitudes and high elevations, more specifically along edges of bedrock escarpments. Lightning is also a significant contributor to land surface denudation. We can show this as lightning strikes on outcrops can dramatically alter the magnetic signature of rocks and is one of the main sources of noise in paleomagnetic studies. Igneous rocks in the highlands of Lesotho, southern Africa (\textgreater 3000 m elevation) provide an ideal study location, as flow lavas remain as prominent ridges that are relatively resistant to weathering. It is well known that lightning strikes can cause large remanent magnetization in rocks with little resultant variation in susceptibility. At two adjoining peaks in the Lesotho highlands, mapped freshly fractured rock correlates with areas of high magnetic intensity (remanent component), but little variation in susceptibility (related to the induced field), and is therefore a clear indicator of lightning damage. The majority of these mapped strike sites occur at the edges of topographic highs. Variations in magnetic intensity are correlated with the much lower resolution national lightning strikes dataset. These data confirm that high elevation edges of peak scarps are the focus of previous lightning strikes. This method of magnetic surveying compared with lightning strike data is a new method of confirming the locations of lightning strikes, and reduces the need for intensive paleomagnetic studies of the area to confirm remanence.

In this paper, we use selective laser melting (SLM) technology to fabricate AlNiCo magnetic materials, and the effects of laser processing parameters on the density and mechanical properties of AlNiCo magnetic materials were studied. We tested the magnetic properties of the heat-treated magnets. The results show that both laser power and scanning speed affect the forming. In this paper, the influence of laser power on the density of samples far exceeds the scanning speed. Through the experiment, we obtained the optimal range of process parameters: laser power (150 170W) and laser scanning speed (800 1000mm/s). Although the samples formed within this range have higher density, there are still many cracks, further research work should be done.
