ASIACRYPT 2002 was held on December 1-5, 2002 in Queenstown, New Zealand.

    After two years of planning and preparation, the conference has come and gone in the blink of an eye. Everyone who worked to make this a success performed without incident. We are eternally grateful to all those who made AsiaCrypt 2002 a huge success. In the end we had 147 attendees from 21 countries. In the next few days, we will add another feature to this site. This will hold the best of the more than 1,150 photos taken by James Hughes, Spike Quinn, Roland McKenzie and myself during the conference. For those who attended, we hope that you enjoy the photos.

    The Computer Security Foundations Workshop was held during June 24--26, 2002 in Nova Scotia, Canada. This is an annual workshop with the purpose of "bring[ing] together researchers to explore fundamental issues in computer security." Every year since its inception, the workshop has been limited to forty participants, the majority of whom present papers or speak on panels. The setting is informal with plenty of time for technical discussion.
