Modular exponentiation (ME) is a complex operation for several public-key cryptosystems (PKCs). Moreover, ME is expensive for resource-constrained devices in terms of computation time and energy consumption, especially when the exponent is large. ME is defined as the task of raising an integer x to power k and reducing the result modulo some integer n. Several methods to calculate ME have been proposed. In this paper, we present the efficient ME methods. We then implement the methods using different security levels of RSA keys on a Raspberry Pi. Finally, we give the fast ME method.

Protecting an identity of IPv6 packet against Denial-of-Service (DoS) attack, depend on the proposed methods of cryptography and steganography. Reliable communication using the security aspect is the most visible issue, particularly in IPv6 network applications. Problems such as DoS attacks, IP spoofing and other kinds of passive attacks are common. This paper suggests an approach based on generating a randomly unique identities for every node. The generated identity is encrypted and hided in the transmitted packets of the sender side. In the receiver side, the received packet verified to identify the source before processed. Also, the paper involves implementing nine experiments that are used to test the proposed scheme. The scheme is based on creating the address of IPv6, then passing it to the logistics map then encrypted by RSA and authenticated by SHA2. In addition, network performance is computed by OPNET modular. The results showed better computation power consumption in case of lost packet, average events, memory and time, and the better results as total memory is 35,523 KB, average events/sec is 250,52, traffic sent is 30,324 packets/sec, traffic received is 27,227 packets/sec, and lose packets is 3,097 packets/sec.

Application of cryptography and how various encryption algorithms methods are used to encrypt and decrypt data that traverse the network is relevant in securing information flows. Implementing cryptography in a secure network environment requires the application of secret keys, public keys, and hash functions to ensure data confidentiality, integrity, authentication, and non-repudiation. However, providing secure communications to prevent interception, interruption, modification, and fabrication on network systems has been challenging. Cyberattacks are deploying various methods and techniques to break into network systems to exploit digital signatures, VPNs, and others. Thus, it has become imperative to consider applying techniques to provide secure and trustworthy communication and computing using cryptography methods. The paper explores applied cryptography concepts in information and network systems security to prevent cyberattacks and improve secure communications. The contribution of the paper is threefold: First, we consider the various cyberattacks on the different cryptography algorithms in symmetric, asymmetric, and hashing functions. Secondly, we apply the various RSA methods on a network system environment to determine how the cyberattack could intercept, interrupt, modify, and fabricate information. Finally, we discuss the secure implementations methods and recommendations to improve security controls. Our results show that we could apply cryptography methods to identify vulnerabilities in the RSA algorithm in secure computing and communications networks.

Kumar, Chandan, Singh, Shailendra.  2021.  Asymmetric Encryption of Surveillance Videos for Adaptive Threshold based Moving Object Detection. 2021 IEEE 8th Uttar Pradesh Section International Conference on Electrical, Electronics and Computer Engineering (UPCON). :1–6.
The use of video surveillance (VS) has grown significantly using the internet as a platform. Thus security issues on such videos must be addressed. Video frames can have multiple objects and various features over video length. Moving object detection (MOD) and real-time tracking requires security strategies designed to protect videos. This paper is proposed to design an asymmetric encryption method (RSA). The paper has contributed in two stages. In the first phase the fast video segmentation method based on a global variable threshold is designed to facilitate MOD. Later in second pass the RSA-based encryption is used to maintain the efficiency of the object detection. The secure key generation method is demonstrated. The performances of two global thresholds are demonstrated and compared under the encrypted video data. It is found that that method is very effective in finding objects under the context of video surveillance in real time.

Aman, Mohd, Verma, Prashant, Rajeswari, D.  2021.  Secure Cloud Data Deduplication with Efficient Re-Encryption. 2021 International Conference on Intelligent Technologies (CONIT). :1–4.
After the emergence of the cloud architecture, many companies migrate their data from conventional storage i.e., on bare metal to the cloud storage. Since then huge amount of data was stored on cloud servers, which later resulted in redundancy of huge amount of data. Hence in this cloud world, many data de-duplication techniques has been widely used. Not only the redundancy but also made data more secure and privacy of the existing data were also increased. Some techniques got limitations and some have their own advantages based on the requirements. Some of the attributes like data privacy, tag regularity and interruption to brute-force attacks. To make data deduplication technique more efficient based on the requirements. This paper will discuss schemes that brace user-defined access control, by allowing the service provider to get information of the information owners. Thus our scheme eliminates redundancy of the data without breaching the privacy and security of clients that depends on service providers. Our lastest deduplication scheme after performing various algorithms resulted in conclusion and producing more efficient data confidentiality and tag consistency. This paper has discussion on various techniques and their drawbacks for the effectiveness of the deduplication.

Cloud technology is advancing rapidly because of it’s capability to replace the traditional computing techniques. Cloud offers various kinds of services for the user that are being used. In this research paper, storage as a service provided by cloud is examined as the data of the owner is being shared to the cloud so we have to ensure that data integrity is being maintained. In order to have a robust mechanism that offers a secure pathway for sharing data different encryption algorithms have been utilized. We investigate all the suitable algorithms with various combinations because any single algorithm is prone to some kind of attack. Testing of these algorithms is done by analyzing the parameters such as time required for execution, use of computational resources, key management, etc. Finally the best one that stands and fulfill all the criteria in a reasonable manner is selected for the purpose of storage.

IoT is still an emerging technology without a lot of standards around it, which makes it difficult to integrate it into existing businesses, what's more, with restricted assets and expanding gadgets that essentially work with touchy information. Thus, information safety has become urgent for coders and clients. Thus, painstakingly chosen and essentially tested encryption calculations should be utilized to grow the gadgets productively, to decrease the danger of leaking the delicate information. This investigation looks at the ECC calculation (Elliptic Curve Cryptography) and Rivest-Shamir-Adleman (RSA) calculation. Furthermore, adding the study of DNA encoding operation in DNA computing with ECC to avoid attackers from getting access to the valuable data.

Implementing the color images encryption is a challenging field of the research for IOT applications. An exponential growth in imaging cameras in IOT uses makes it critical to design the robust image security algorithms. It is also observed that performance of existing encryption methods degrades under the presence of noisy environments. This is the major concern of evaluating the encryption method in this paper. The prime concern of this paper is to design the fast efficient color images encryption algorithm by designing an efficient and robustness RSA encryption algorithm. Method takes the advantage of both preprocessing and the Gaussian pyramid (GP) approach for encryption. To improve the performance it is proposed to use the LAB color space and implement the RSA encryption on luminance (L) component using the GP domain. The median filter and image sharpening is used for preprocessing. The goal is to improve the performance under highly noisy imaging environment. The performance is compared based on the crypto weights and on the basis of visual artifacts and entropy analysis. The decrypted outputs are again converted to color image output. Using the LAB color space is expected to improve the entropy performance of the image. Result of proposed encryption method is evaluated under the different types of the noisy attacks over the color images and also performance is compared with state of art encryption methods. Significant improvement speed of the algorithm is compared in terms of the elapsed time

In the past few years, the blockchain emerged as peer-to-peer distributed ledger technology for recording transactions, maintained by many peers without any central trusted regulatory authority through distributed public-key cryptography and consensus mechanism. It has not only given the birth of cryptocurrencies, but it also resolved various security, privacy and transparency issues of decentralized systems. This article discussed the blockchain basics overview, architecture, and blockchain security components such as hash function, Merkle tree, digital signature, and Elliptic curve cryptography (ECC). In addition to the core idea of blockchain, we focus on ECC's significance in the blockchain. We also discussed why RSA and other key generation mechanisms are not suitable for blockchain-based IoT applications. We also analyze many possible blockchain-based applications where ECC algorithm is better than other algorithms concerning security and privacy assurance. At the end of the article, we will explain the comparative analysis of ECC and RSA.

Privacy and security have become the most important aspects in any sphere of technology today from embedded systems to VLS I circuits. One such an attack compromising the privacy, security and trust of a networked control system by making them vulnerable to unauthorized access is the Hardware Trojan Horses. Even cryptographic algorithms whose purpose is to safeguard information are susceptible to these Trojan attacks. This paper discusses hybrid supervised machine learning models that predict with great accuracy whether the RSA asymmetric cryptosystem implemented in Atmel XMega microcontroller is Trojan-free (Golden) or Trojan-infected by analyzing the power profiles of the golden algorithm and trojan-infected algorithm. The power profiles are obtained using the ChipWhisperer Lite Board. The features selected from the power profiles are used to create datasets for the proposed hybrid models and train the proposed models using the 70/30 rule. The proposed hybrid models can be concluded that it has an accuracy of more than 88% irrespective of the Trojan types and size of the datasets.

Cloud is the perfect way to hold our data every day. Yet the confidentiality of our data is a big concern in the handling of cloud data. Data integrity, authentication and confidentiality are basic security threats in the cloud. Cryptography techniques and Third Party Auditor (TPA) are very useful to impose the integrity and confidentiality of data. In this paper, a system is proposed Enhancing data protection that is housed in cloud computing. The suggested solution uses the RSA algorithm and the AES algorithm to encrypt user data. The hybridization of these two algorithms allows better data protection before it is stored in the cloud. Secure hash algorithm 512 is used to compute the Hash Message Authentication Code (HMAC). A stable audit program is also introduced for Third Party Auditor (TPA) use. The suggested algorithm is applied in python programming and tested in a simple sample format. It is checked that the proposed algorithm functions well to guarantee greater data protection.

The current paper is proposing a three-factor authentication (3FA) scheme based on three components. In the first component a token and a password will be generated (this module represents the kernel of the three-factor authentication scheme - 3FA). In the second component a pass-code will be generated, using to the token resulted in the first phase. We will use RSA for encryption and decryption of the generated values (token and pass-code). For the token ID and passcode the user will use his smartphone. The third component uses a searchable encryption scheme, whose purpose is to retrieve the documents of the user from the cloud server, based on a keyword and his/her fingerprint. The documents are stored encrypted on a mistrust server (cloud environment) and searchable encryption will help us to search specific information and to access those documents in an encrypted content. We will introduce also a software simulation developed in C\# 8.0 for our scheme and a source code analysis for the main algorithms.

Pandey, A., Mahajan, D., Gupta, S., Rastogi, i.  2020.  Detection of Blind Signature Using Recursive Sum. 2020 6th International Conference on Signal Processing and Communication (ICSC). :262–265.
Digital signatures are suitable technology for public key encryption. Acceptance (non-repudiation) of digital messages and data origin authentication are one of the main usage of digital signature. Digital signature's security mainly depends on the keys (public and private). These keys are used to generate and validate digital signatures. In digital signature signing process is performed using signer's secret key. However, any attacker can present a blinded version of message encrypted with signer's public key and can get the original message. Therefore, this paper proposed a novel method to identify blinded version of digital signature. The proposed method has been tested mathematically and found to be more efficient to detect blind signatures.

Nowadays, Fog Computing gets more attention due to its characteristics. Fog computing provides more advantages in related to apply with the latest technology. On the other hand, there is an issue about the data security over processing of data. Fog Computing encounters many security challenges like false data injection, violating privacy in edge devices and integrity of data, etc. An encryption scheme called Homomorphic Encryption (HME) technique is used to protect the data from the various security threats. This homomorphic encryption scheme allows doing manipulation over the encrypted data without decrypting it. This scheme can be implemented in many systems with various crypto-algorithms. This homomorphic encryption technique is mainly used to retain the privacy and to process the stored encrypted data on a remote server. This paper addresses the terminologies of Fog Computing, work flow and properties of the homomorphic encryption algorithm, followed by exploring the application of homomorphic encryption in various public key cryptosystems such as RSA and Pailier. It focuses on various homomorphic encryption schemes implemented by various researchers such as Brakerski-Gentry-Vaikuntanathan model, Improved Homomorphic Cryptosystem, Upgraded ElGamal based Algebric homomorphic encryption scheme, In-Direct rapid homomorphic encryption scheme which provides integrity of data.

In the northern gas fields, most data are transmitted via wireless networks, which requires special transmission security measures. Herewith, the gas field infrastructure dictates cybersecurity modules to not only meet standard requirements but also ensure reduced energy consumption. The paper discusses the issue of building such a module for a process control system based on the RTP-04M recorder operating in conjunction with an Android-based mobile device. The software options used for the RSA and Diffie-Hellman data encryption and decryption algorithms on both the RTP-04M and the Android-based mobile device sides in the Keil μVision4 and Android Studio software environments, respectively, have shown that the Diffie-Hellman algorithm is preferable. It provides significant savings in RAM and CPU resources and power consumption of the recorder. In terms of energy efficiency, the implemented programs have been analyzed in the Android Studio (Android Profiler) and Simplicity Studio (Advanced Energy Monitor) environments. The integration of this module into the existing software will improve the field's PCS cybersecurity level due to protecting data transmitted from third-party attacks.

Cryptosystems are essential for computer and communication security, e.g., RSA or ECDSA in PGP Email clients and AES in full disk encryption. In practice, the cryptographic keys are loaded and stored in RAM as plain-text, and therefore vulnerable to cold-boot attacks exploiting the remanence effect of RAM chips to directly read memory data. To tackle this problem, we propose Copker, a cryptographic engine that implements asymmetric cryptosystems entirely within the CPU, without storing any plain-text sensitive data in RAM. Copker supports the popular asymmetric cryptosystems (i.e., RSA and ECDSA), and deterministic random bit generators (DRBGs) used in ECDSA signing. In its active mode, Copker stores kilobytes of sensitive data, including the private key, the DRBG seed and intermediate states, only in on-chip CPU caches (and registers). Decryption/signing operations are performed without storing any sensitive information in RAM. In the suspend mode, Copker stores symmetrically-encrypted private keys and DRBG seeds in memory, while employs existing solutions to keep the key-encryption key securely in CPU registers. Hence, Copker releases the system resources in the suspend mode. We implement Copker with the support of multiple private keys. With security analyses and intensive experiments, we demonstrate that Copker provides cryptographic services that are secure against cold-boot attacks and introduce reasonable overhead.

This study proposed a biometric-based digital signature scheme proposed for facial recognition. The scheme is designed and built to verify the person’s identity during a registration process and retrieve their public and private keys stored in the database. The RSA algorithm has been used as asymmetric encryption method to encrypt hashes generated for digital documents. It uses the hash function (SHA-256) to generate digital signatures. In this study, local binary patterns histograms (LBPH) were used for facial recognition. The facial recognition method was evaluated on ORL faces retrieved from the database of Cambridge University. From the analysis, the LBPH algorithm achieved 97.5% accuracy; the real-time testing was done on thirty subjects and it achieved 94% recognition accuracy. A crypto-tool software was used to perform the randomness test on the proposed RSA and SHA256.

Authentication is the fundamental security service used in almost all remote applications. All such sensitive applications over an open network need authentication mechanism that should be delivered in a trusted way. In this paper, we design an RSA based authentication system for smart IoT environment over the air network using state-of-the-art industry standards. Our system provide security services including X.509 certificate, RSA based Public Key Infrastructure (PKI), challenge/response protocols with the help of proxy induced security service provider. We describe an innovative system model, protocol design, system architecture and evaluation against known threats. Also the implemented solution designed as an add on service for multiple other sensitive applications (smart city apps, cyber physical systems etc.) which needs the support of X.509 certificate based on hard tokens to populate other security services including confidentiality, integrity, non-repudiation, privacy and anonymity of the identities. The proposed scheme is evaluated against known vulnerabilities and given detail comparisons with popular known authentication schemes. The result shows that our proposed scheme mitigate all the known security risks and provide highest level assurance to smart gadgets.
