Dear Colleagues,
Network-on-Chip emerged in recent years as a viable solution for the design of manycore embedded systems of the next generation. However, communication infrastructure scalability, memory bottleneck and parallelization of tasks, just to cite few examples, are becoming the limiting factors that hardware designers and software developers will be facing in the upcoming years.

Situational Awareness provides a user centric approach to security and privacy. The human factor is often recognised as the weakest link in security, therefore situational perception and risk awareness play a leading role in the adoption and implementation of security mechanisms. In this study we assess the understanding of security and privacy of users in possession of wearable devices. The findings demonstrate privacy complacency, as the majority of users trust the application and the wearable device manufacturer.

The central objective of the Active Resources project is to transform the CPS-VO web portal from a collaboration platform and passive repository of information into an active resource that provides access to tools and methods emerging from the CPS research community. As a first step towards providing templates and infrastructure for the dissemination of open-source model libraries and a tool integration platform, we conducted a pilot CPS Design Challenge for undergraduate students from four universities, which was sponsored by Microsoft Research.

Having a shared and accurate sense of time is critical to distributed Cyber-Physical Systems (CPS)
and the Internet of Things (IoT). Thanks to decades of research in clock technologies and
synchronization protocols, it is now possible to measure and synchronize time across distributed
systems with unprecedented accuracy. However, applications have not benefited to the same
extent due to limitations of the system services that help manage time, and hardware-OS and

It's common in controller design to assume that the controller reads the sensors and writes to the actuators at the same time instant. This assumption is often violated in practice because the controller executes its code sequentially on a microprocessor. If the microprocessor is "fast enough," often the controller will still work. However, if the sensing and control are done by two different devices that must communicate across a network, the resulting timing uncertainty due to network delays and clock offsets will often destabilize the controller.
