A Review on Blockchain Based Identity Management System. 2022 3rd International Conference on Intelligent Engineering and Management (ICIEM). :735—740.
.
2022. The expansion of the internet has resulted in huge growth in every industry. It does, however, have a substantial impact on the downsides. Because of the internet's rapid growth, personally identifiable information (PII) should be kept secure in the coming years. Obtaining someone's personal information is rather simple nowadays. There are some established methods for keeping our personal information private. Further, it is essential because we must provide our identity cards to someone for every verification step. In this paper, we will look at some of the attempted methods for protecting our identities. We will highlight the research gaps and potential future enhancements in the research for more enhanced security based on our literature review.

2022. SaaS is a cloud-based application service that allows users to use applications that work in a cloud environment. SaaS is a subscription type, and the service expenditure varies depending on the license, the number of users, and duration of use. For efficient network management, security and cost management, accurate detection of user behavior for SaaS applications is required. In this paper, we propose a rule-based traffic analysis method for the user behavior detection. We conduct comparative experiments with signature-based method by using the real SaaS application and demonstrate the validity of the proposed method.
Safeguard Algorithm by Conventional Security with DNA Cryptography Method. 2022 Muthanna International Conference on Engineering Science and Technology (MICEST). :195—201.
.
2022. Encryption defined as change information process (which called plaintext) into an unreadable secret format (which called ciphertext). This ciphertext could not be easily understood by somebody except authorized parson. Decryption is the process to converting ciphertext back into plaintext. Deoxyribonucleic Acid (DNA) based information ciphering techniques recently used in large number of encryption algorithms. DNA used as data carrier and the modern biological technology is used as implementation tool. New encryption algorithm based on DNA is proposed in this paper. The suggested approach consists of three steps (conventional, stream cipher and DNA) to get high security levels. The character was replaced by shifting depend character location in conventional step, convert to ASCII and AddRoundKey was used in stream cipher step. The result from second step converted to DNA then applying AddRoundKey with DNA key. The evaluation performance results proved that the proposed algorithm cipher the important data with high security levels.

.
2022. The widespread adoption of eCommerce, iBanking, and eGovernment institutions has resulted in an exponential rise in the use of web applications. Due to a large number of users, web applications have become a prime target of cybercriminals who want to steal Personally Identifiable Information (PII) and disrupt business activities. Hence, there is a dire need to audit the websites and ensure information security. In this regard, several web vulnerability scanners are employed for vulnerability assessment of web applications but attacks are still increasing day by day. Therefore, a considerable amount of research has been carried out to measure the effectiveness and limitations of the publicly available web scanners. It is identified that most of the publicly available scanners possess weaknesses and do not generate desired results. In this paper, the evaluation of publicly available web vulnerability scanners is performed against the top ten OWASP11OWASP® The Open Web Application Security Project (OWASP) is an online community that produces comprehensive articles, documentation, methodologies, and tools in the arena of web and mobile security. vulnerabilities and their performance is measured on the precision of their results. Based on these results, we proposed an Integrated Multi-Agent Blackbox Security Assessment Tool (SAT) for the security assessment of web applications. Research has proved that the vulnerabilities assessment results of the SAT are more extensive and accurate.
A Scalable Integrated DC/DC Converter with Enhanced Load Transient Response and Security for Emerging SoC Applications. 2022 IEEE 65th International Midwest Symposium on Circuits and Systems (MWSCAS). :1–4.
.
2022. In this paper we propose a novel integrated DC/DC converter featuring a single-input-multiple-output architecture for emerging System-on-Chip applications to improve load transient response and power side-channel security. The converter is able to provide multiple outputs ranging from 0.3V to 0.92V using a global 1V input. By using modularized circuit blocks, the converter can be extended to provide higher power or more outputs with minimal design complexity. Performance metrics including power efficiency and load transient response can be well maintained as well. Implemented in 32nm technology, single output efficiency can reach to 88% for the post layout models. By enabling delay blocks and circuits sharing, the Pearson correlation coefficient of input and output can be reduced to 0.1 under rekeying test. The reference voltage tracking speed is up to 31.95 V/μs and peak load step response is 53 mA/ns. Without capacitors, the converter consumes 2.85 mm2 for high power version and only 1.4 mm2 for the low power case.
A Scalable Single-Input-Multiple-Output DC/DC Converter with Enhanced Load Transient Response and Security for Low-Power SoCs. 2022 IEEE International Symposium on Circuits and Systems (ISCAS). :1497–1501.
.
2022. This paper presents a scalable single-input-multiple-output DC/DC converter targeting load transient response and security improvement for low-power System-on-Chips (SoCs). A two-stage modular architecture is introduced to enable scalability. The shared switched-capacitor pre-charging circuits are implemented to improve load transient response and decouple correlations between inputs and outputs. The demo version of the converter has three identical outputs, each supporting 0.3V to 0.9V with a maximum load current of 150mA. Based on post-layout simulation results in 32nm CMOS process, the converter output provides 19.3V/μs reference tracking speed and 27mA/ns workload transitions with negligible voltage droops or spikes. No cross regulation is observed at any outputs with a worst-case voltage ripple of 68mV. Peak efficiency reaches 85.5% for each output. With variable delays added externally, the input-output correlations can change 10 times and for steady-state operation, such correlation factors are always kept below 0.05. The converter is also scaled to support 6 outputs with only 0.56mm2 more area and maintains same load transient response performance.
SCGAN: Generative Adversarial Networks of Skip Connection for Face Image Inpainting. 2022 Ninth International Conference on Social Networks Analysis, Management and Security (SNAMS). :1–6.
.
2022. Deep learning has been widely applied for jobs involving face inpainting, however, there are usually some problems, such as incoherent inpainting edges, lack of diversity of generated images and other problems. In order to get more feature information and improve the inpainting effect, we therefore propose a Generative Adversarial Network of Skip Connection (SCGAN), which connects the encoder layers and the decoder layers by skip connection in the generator. The coherence and consistency of the image inpainting edges are improved, and the finer features of the image inpainting are refined, simultaneously using the discriminator's local and global double discriminators model. We also employ WGAN-GP loss to enhance model stability during training, prevent model collapse, and increase the variety of inpainting face images. Finally, experiments on the CelebA dataset and the LFW dataset are performed, and the model's performance is assessed using the PSNR and SSIM indices. Our model's face image inpainting is more realistic and coherent than that of other models, and the model training is more reliable.

SECOM: Towards a convention for security commit messages. 2022 IEEE/ACM 19th International Conference on Mining Software Repositories (MSR). :764—765.
.
2022. One way to detect and assess software vulnerabilities is by extracting security-related information from commit messages. Automating the detection and assessment of vulnerabilities upon security commit messages is still challenging due to the lack of structured and clear messages. We created a convention, called SECOM, for security commit messages that structure and include bits of security-related information that are essential for detecting and assessing vulnerabilities for both humans and tools. The full convention and details are available here: https://tqrg.github.io/secom/.
Secure Communication Protocol for Network-on-Chip with Authenticated Encryption and Recovery Mechanism. 2022 IEEE 33rd International Conference on Application-specific Systems, Architectures and Processors (ASAP). :156—160.
.
2022. In recent times, Network-on-Chip (NoC) has become state of the art for communication in Multiprocessor System-on-Chip due to the existing scalability issues in this area. However, these systems are exposed to security threats such as extraction of secret information. Therefore, the need for secure communication arises in such environments. In this work, we present a communication protocol based on authenticated encryption with recovery mechanisms to establish secure end-to-end communication between the NoC nodes. In addition, a selected key agreement approach required for secure communication is implemented. The security functionality is located in the network adapter of each processing element. If data is tampered with or deleted during transmission, recovery mechanisms ensure that the corrupted data is retransmitted by the network adapter without the need of interference from the processing element. We simulated and implemented the complete system with SystemC TLM using the NoC simulation platform PANACA. Our results show that we can keep a high rate of correctly transmitted information even when attackers infiltrated the NoC system.
A Secure mechanism to protect UAV communications. 2022 9th Iranian Joint Congress on Fuzzy and Intelligent Systems (CFIS). :1–6.
.
2022. This paper presents a novel authentication method based on a distributed version of Kerberos for UAVs. One of the major problems of UAVs in recent years has been cyber-attacks which allow attackers to control the UAV or access its information. The growing use of UAVs has encouraged us to investigate the methods of their protection especially authentication of their users. In the past, the Kerberos system was rarely used for authentication in UAV systems. In our proposed method, based on a distributed version of Kerberos, we can authenticate multiple ground stations, users, and controllers for one or more UAVs. This method considers most of the security aspects to protect UAV systems mainly in the authentication phase and improves the security of UAVs and ground control stations and their communications considerably.

A Secure Turbo Codes Design on Physical Layer Security Based on Interleaving and Puncturing. 2022 IEEE 96th Vehicular Technology Conference (VTC2022-Fall). :1–7.
.
2022. Nowadays, improving the reliability and security of the transmitted data has gained more attention with the increase in emerging power-limited and lightweight communication devices. Also, the transmission needs to meet specific latency requirements. Combining data encryption and encoding in one physical layer block has been exploited to study the effect on security and latency over traditional sequential data transmission. Some of the current works target secure error-correcting codes that may be candidates for post-quantum computing. However, modifying the popularly used channel coding techniques to guarantee secrecy and maintain the same error performance and complexity at the decoder is challenging since the structure of the channel coding blocks is altered which results in less optimal decoding performance. Also, the redundancy nature of the error-correcting codes complicates the encryption method. In this paper, we briefly review the proposed security schemes on Turbo codes. Then, we propose a secure turbo code design and compare it with the relevant security schemes in the literature. We show that the proposed method is more secure without adding complexity.

A Secure Workflow for Shared HPC Systems. 2022 22nd IEEE International Symposium on Cluster, Cloud and Internet Computing (CCGrid). :965–974.
.
2022. Driven by the progress of data and compute-intensive methods in various scientific domains, there is an in-creasing demand from researchers working with highly sensitive data to have access to the necessary computational resources to be able to adapt those methods in their respective fields. To satisfy the computing needs of those researchers cost-effectively, it is an open quest to integrate reliable security measures on existing High Performance Computing (HPC) clusters. The fundamental problem with securely working with sensitive data is, that HPC systems are shared systems that are typically trimmed for the highest performance - not for high security. For instance, there are commonly no additional virtualization techniques employed, thus, users typically have access to the host operating system. Since new vulnerabilities are being continuously discovered, solely relying on the traditional Unix permissions is not secure enough. In this paper, we discuss a generic and secure workflow that can be implemented on typical HPC systems allowing users to transfer, store and analyze sensitive data. In our experiments, we see an advantage in the asynchronous execution of IO requests, while reaching 80 % of the ideal performance.
Secured framework for privacy preserving healthcare based on blockchain. 2022 International Conference on Computer Communication and Informatics (ICCCI). :1–5.
.
2022. Healthcare has become one of the most important aspects of people’s lives, resulting in a surge in medical big data. Healthcare providers are increasingly using Internet of Things (IoT)-based wearable technologies to speed up diagnosis and treatment. In recent years, Through the Internet, billions of sensors, gadgets, and vehicles have been connected. One such example is for the treatment and care of patients, technology—remote patient monitoring—is already commonplace. However, these technologies also offer serious privacy and data security problems. Data transactions are transferred and logged. These medical data security and privacy issues might ensue from a pause in therapy, putting the patient’s life in jeopardy. We planned a framework to manage and analyse healthcare large data in a safe manner based on blockchain. Our model’s enhanced privacy and security characteristics are based on data sanitization and restoration techniques. The framework shown here make data and transactions more secure.

Securing Big Data: A Survey on Security Solutions. 2022 13th International Conference on Electrical Engineering (ICEENG). :145–149.
.
2022. Big Data (BD) is the combination of several technologies which address the gathering, analyzing and storing of massive heterogeneous data. The tremendous spurt of the Internet of Things (IoT) and different technologies are the fundamental incentive behind this enduring development. Moreover, the analysis of this data requires high-performance servers for advanced and parallel data analytics. Thus, data owners with their limited capabilities may outsource their data to a powerful but untrusted environment, i.e., the Cloud. Furthermore, data analytic techniques performed on external cloud may arise various security intimidations regarding the confidentiality and the integrity of the aforementioned; transferred, analyzed, and stored data. To countermeasure these security issues and challenges, several techniques have been addressed. This survey paper aims to summarize and emphasize the security threats within Big Data framework, in addition, it is worth mentioning research work related to Big Data Analytics (BDA).
On Securing MAC Layer Broadcast Signals Against Covert Channel Exploitation in 5G, 6G & Beyond. 2022 IEEE Future Networks World Forum (FNWF). :486—493.
.
2022. In this work, we propose a novel framework to identify and mitigate a recently disclosed covert channel scheme exploiting unprotected broadcast messages in cellular MAC layer protocols. Examples of covert channel are used in data exfiltration, remote command-and-control (CnC) and espionage. Responsibly disclosed to GSMA (CVD-2021-0045), the SPAR-ROW covert channel scheme exploits the downlink power of LTE/5G base-stations that broadcast contention resolution identity (CRI) from any anonymous device according to the 3GPP standards. Thus, the SPARROW devices can covertly relay short messages across long-distance which can be potentially harmful to critical infrastructure. The SPARROW schemes can also complement the solutions for long-range M2M applications. This work investigates the security vs. performance trade-off in CRI-based contention resolution mechanisms. Then it offers a rig-orously designed method to randomly obfuscate CRI broadcast in future 5G/6G standards. Compared to CRI length reduction, the proposed method achieves considerable protection against SPARROW exploitation with less impact on the random-access performance as shown in the numerical results.
Security and Privacy Evaluation Methods and Metrics in Vehicular Networks. 2022 IEEE 19th Annual Consumer Communications & Networking Conference (CCNC). :1—6.
.
2022. The vehicular networks extend the internet services to road edge. They allow users to stay connected offering them a set of safety and infotainment services like weather forecasts and road conditions. The security and privacy are essential issues in computing systems and networks. They are particularly important in vehicular networks due to their direct impact on the users’ safety on road. Various researchers have concentrated their efforts on resolving these two issues in vehicular networks. A great number of researches are found in literature and with still existing open issues and security risks to be solved, the research is continuous in this area. However, the researchers may face some difficulties in choosing the correct method to prove their works or to illustrate their excellency in comparison with existing solutions. In this paper, we review a set of evaluation methodologies and metrics to measure, proof or analyze privacy and security solutions. The aim of this review is to illuminate the readers about the possible existing methods to help them choose the correct techniques to use and reduce their difficulties.
Security Door Lock Using Multi-Sensor System Based on RFID, Fingerprint, and Keypad. 2022 International Conference on Green Energy, Computing and Sustainable Technology (GECOST). :453–457.
.
2022. Thefts problem in household needs to be anticipated with home security system. One of simple methods is using automatic solenoid door lock system, so that it is difficult to be duplicated and will reduce the chance of theft action when the house is empty. Therefore, a home security system prototype that can be accessed by utilizing biometric fingerprint, Radio Frequency Identification (RFID), and keypad sensors was designed and tested. Arduino Uno works to turn on the door lock solenoid, so door access will be given when authentication is successful. Experimental results show that fingerprint sensor works well by being able to read fingerprints perfectly and the average time required to scan a fingerprint was 3.7 seconds. Meanwhile, Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) sensor detects Electronic-Kartu Tanda Penduduk (E-KTP) and the average time required for Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) to scan the card is about 2.4 seconds. Keypad functions to store password to unlock the door which produces the average time of 3.7 seconds after 10 trials. Average time to open with multi-sensor is 9.8 seconds. However, its drawback is no notification or SMS which directly be accessed by a cellphone or website with Wi-Fi or Telegram applications allow homeowners to monitor their doors from afar as to minimize the number of house thefts.
Security Evaluation of Cyber-Physical Systems with Redundant Components. 2022 CPSSI 4th International Symposium on Real-Time and Embedded Systems and Technologies (RTEST). :1—7.
.
2022. The emergence of CPSs leads to modernization of critical infrastructures and improving flexibility and efficiency from one point of view. However, from another point of view, this modernization has subjected them to cyber threats. This paper provides a modeling approach for evaluating the security of CPSs. The main idea behind the presented model is to study the attacker and the system behaviors in the penetration and attack phases with exploiting some defensive countermeasures such as redundant components and attack detection strategies. By using the proposed approach, we can investigate how redundancy factor of sensors, controllers and actuators and intrusion detection systems can improve the system security and delay the system security failure.
The Security Investigation of Ban Score and Misbehavior Tracking in Bitcoin Network. 2022 IEEE 42nd International Conference on Distributed Computing Systems (ICDCS). :191–201.
.
2022. Bitcoin P2P networking is especially vulnerable to networking threats because it is permissionless and does not have the security protections based on the trust in identities, which enables the attackers to manipulate the identities for Sybil and spoofing attacks. The Bitcoin node keeps track of its peer’s networking misbehaviors through ban scores. In this paper, we investigate the security problems of the ban-score mechanism and discover that the ban score is not only ineffective against the Bitcoin Message-based DoS (BM-DoS) attacks but also vulnerable to the Defamation attack as the network adversary can exploit the ban score to defame innocent peers. To defend against these threats, we design an anomaly detection approach that is effective, lightweight, and tailored to the networking threats exploiting Bitcoin’s ban-score mechanism. We prototype our threat discoveries against a real-world Bitcoin node connected to the Bitcoin Mainnet and conduct experiments based on the prototype implementation. The experimental results show that the attacks have devastating impacts on the targeted victim while being cost-effective on the attacker side. For example, an attacker can ban a peer in two milliseconds and reduce the victim’s mining rate by hundreds of thousands of hash computations per second. Furthermore, to counter the threats, we empirically validate our detection countermeasure’s effectiveness and performances against the BM-DoS and Defamation attacks.

Security of operating system using the Metasploit framework by creating a backdoor from remote setup. 2022 2nd International Conference on Advance Computing and Innovative Technologies in Engineering (ICACITE). :2618–2622.
.
2022. The era of technology has seen many rising inventions and with that rise, comes the need to secure our systems. In this paper we have discussed how the old generation of people are falling behind at being updated in tandem with technology, and losing track of the knowledge required to process the same. In addition this factor leads to leakage of critical personal information. This paper throws light upon the steps taken in order to exploit the pre-existing operating system, Windows 7, Ultimate, using a ubiquitous framework used by everyone, i.e. Metasploit. It involves installation of a backdoor on the victim machine, from a remote setup, mostly Kali Linux operating machine. This backdoor allows the attackers to create executable files and deploy them in the windows system to gain access on the machine, remotely. After gaining access, manipulation of sensitive data becomes easy. Access to the admin rights of any system is a red alert because it means that some outsider has intense access to personal information of a human being and since data about someone explains a lot of things about them. It basically is exposing and human hate that. It depraves one of their personal identity. Therefore security is not something that should be taken lightly. It is supposed to be dealt with utmost care.
