The effective security system improvement from malware attacks on the Android operating system should be updated and improved. Effective malware detection increases the level of data security and high protection for the users. Malicious software or malware typically finds a means to circumvent the security procedure, even when the user is unaware whether the application can act as malware. The effectiveness of obfuscated android malware detection is evaluated by collecting static analysis data from a data set. The experiment assesses the risk level of which malware dataset using the hash value of the malware and records malware behavior. A set of hash SHA256 malware samples has been obtained from an internet dataset and will be analyzed using static analysis to record malware behavior and evaluate which risk level of the malware. According to the results, most of the algorithms provide the same total score because of the multiple crime inside the malware application.

In the traditional Internet of Vehicles, communication data is easily tampered with and easily leaked. In order to improve the trust evaluation mechanism of the Internet of Vehicles and establish a trust relationship between vehicles, a blockchain-based Internet of Vehicles trust evaluation (BBTE) scheme is proposed. First, the scheme uses the roadside unit RSU to calculate the trust value of vehicle nodes and maintain the generation, verification and storage of blocks, so as to realize distributed data storage and ensure that data cannot be tampered with. Secondly, an efficient trust evaluation method is designed. The method integrates four trust decision factors: initial trust, historical experience trust, recommendation trust and RSU observation trust to obtain the overall trust value of vehicle nodes. In addition, in the process of constructing the recommendation trust method, the recommendation trust is divided into three categories according to the interaction between the recommended vehicle node and the communicator, use CRITIC to obtain the optimal weights of three recommended trusts, and use CRITIC to obtain the optimal weights of four trust decision-making factors to obtain the final trust value. Finally, the NS3 simulation platform is used to verify the security and accuracy of the trust evaluation method, and to improve the identification accuracy and detection rate of malicious vehicle nodes. The experimental analysis shows that the scheme can effectively deal with the gray hole attack, slander attack and collusion attack of other vehicle nodes, improve the security of vehicle node communication interaction, and provide technical support for the basic application of Internet of Vehicles security.

With the development of urbanization, the number of vehicles is gradually increasing, and vehicles are gradually developing in the direction of intelligence. How to ensure that the data of intelligent vehicles is not tampered in the process of transmission to the cloud is the key problem of current research. Therefore, we have established a data security transmission system based on blockchain. First, we collect and filter vehicle data locally, and then use blockchain technology to transmit key data. Through the smart contract, the key data is automatically and accurately transmitted to the surrounding node vehicles, and the vehicles transmit data to each other to form a transaction and spread to the whole network. The node data is verified through the node data consensus protocol of intelligent vehicle data security transmission system, and written into the block to form a blockchain. Finally, the vehicle user can query the transaction record through the vehicle address. The results show that we can safely and accurately transmit and query vehicle data in the blockchain database.

Sengul, M. Kutlu, Tarhan, Cigdem, Tecim, Vahap.  2022.  Application of Intelligent Transportation System Data using Big Data Technologies. 2022 Innovations in Intelligent Systems and Applications Conference (ASYU). :1–6.
Problems such as the increase in the number of private vehicles with the population, the rise in environmental pollution, the emergence of unmet infrastructure and resource problems, and the decrease in time efficiency in cities have put local governments, cities, and countries in search of solutions. These problems faced by cities and countries are tried to be solved in the concept of smart cities and intelligent transportation by using information and communication technologies in line with the needs. While designing intelligent transportation systems (ITS), beyond traditional methods, big data should be designed in a state-of-the-art and appropriate way with the help of methods such as artificial intelligence, machine learning, and deep learning. In this study, a data-driven decision support system model was established to help the business make strategic decisions with the help of intelligent transportation data and to contribute to the elimination of public transportation problems in the city. Our study model has been established using big data technologies and business intelligence technologies: a decision support system including data sources layer, data ingestion/ collection layer, data storage and processing layer, data analytics layer, application/presentation layer, developer layer, and data management/ data security layer stages. In our study, the decision support system was modeled using ITS data supported by big data technologies, where the traditional structure could not find a solution. This paper aims to create a basis for future studies looking for solutions to the problems of integration, storage, processing, and analysis of big data and to add value to the literature that is missing within the framework of the model. We provide both the lack of literature, eliminate the lack of models before the application process of existing data sets to the business intelligence architecture and a model study before the application to be carried out by the authors.

This paper proposes a Mobile IoT optimization method for Next-Generation networks by evaluating a series of named-based techniques implemented in Information-Centric Networking (ICN). The idea is based on the possibility to have a more suitable naming and forwarding mechanism to be implemented in IoT. The main advantage of the method is in achieving a higher success packet rate and data rate by following the proposed technique even when the device is mobile / roaming around. The proposed technique is utilizing a root prefix naming which allows faster process and dynamic increase for content waiting time in Pending Interest Table (PIT). To test the idea, a simulation is carried out by mimicking how IoT can be implemented, especially in smart cities, where a user can also travel and not be static. Results show that the proposed technique can achieve up to a 13% interest success rate and an 18.7% data rate increase compared to the well-known implementation algorithms. The findings allow for possible further cooperation of data security factors and ensuring energy reduction through leveraging more processes at the edge node.

The fourth industrial revolution has led to the rapid development of industrial control systems. While the large number of industrial system devices connected to the Internet provides convenience for production management, it also exposes industrial control systems to more attack surfaces. Under the influence of multiple attack surfaces, sensitive data leakage has a more serious and time-spanning negative impact on industrial production systems. How to quickly locate the source of information leakage plays a crucial role in reducing the loss from the attack, so there are new requirements for tracing sensitive data in industrial control information systems. In this paper, we propose a digital watermarking traceability scheme for sensitive data in industrial control systems to address the above problems. In this scheme, we enhance the granularity of traceability by classifying sensitive data types of industrial control systems into text, image and video data with differentiated processing, and achieve accurate positioning of data sources by combining technologies such as national secret asymmetric encryption and hash message authentication codes, and mitigate the impact of mainstream watermarking technologies such as obfuscation attacks and copy attacks on sensitive data. It also mitigates the attacks against the watermarking traceability such as obfuscation attacks and copy attacks. At the same time, this scheme designs a data flow watermark monitoring module on the post-node of the data source to monitor the unauthorized sensitive data access behavior caused by other attacks.

From the past few years cloud services are so popular and are being used by many people from various domains for various purposes such as data storage, e-mails, backing up data and much more. While there were many options to perform such things why did people choose cloud? The answer is clouds are more flexible, convenient, reliable and efficient. Coming to security of data over cloud, it is secure to store data over cloud rather than storing data locally as there is chance of some computer breakdown or any natural disaster may also occur. There are also many threats for data security over cloud namely data breaching, lack of access-key management and much more. As the data has been processed and being stored online for various purposes, there is a clear requirement for data security. Many organizations face various challenges while storing their data over cloud such as data leakages, account hijacking, insufficient credentials and so on. So to overcome these challenges and safeguard the data, various encryption techniques were implemented. However, even though encryption is used, the data still needs to be decrypted in order to do any type of operation. As a result, we must choose a manner in which the data can be analyzed, searched for, or used in any other way without needing to be decoded. So, the objective is to introduce a technique that goes right for the above conditions mentioned and for data security over cloud.

De La Croix, Ntivuguruzwa Jean, Islamy, Chaidir Chalaf, Ahmad, Tohari.  2022.  Secret Message Protection using Fuzzy Logic and Difference Expansion in Digital Images. 2022 IEEE Nigeria 4th International Conference on Disruptive Technologies for Sustainable Development (NIGERCON). :1—5.

Secrete message protection has become a focal point of the network security domain due to the problems of violating the network use policies and unauthorized access of the public network. These problems have led to data protection techniques such as cryptography, and steganography. Cryptography consists of encrypting secrete message to a ciphertext format and steganography consists of concealing the secrete message in codes that make up a digital file, such as an image, audio, and video. Steganography, which is different from cryptography, ensures hiding a secret message for secure transmission over the public network. This paper presents a steganographic approach using digital images for data hiding that aims to providing higher performance by combining fuzzy logic type I to pre-process the cover image and difference expansion techniques. The previous methods have used the original cover image to embed the secrete message. This paper provides a new method that first identifies the edges of a cover image and then proceeds with a difference expansion to embed the secrete message. The experimental results of this work identified an improvement of 10% of the existing method based on increased payload capacity and the visibility of the stego image.

Xin, Wu, Shen, Qingni, Feng, Ke, Xia, Yutang, Wu, Zhonghai, Lin, Zhenghao.  2022.  Personalized User Profiles-based Insider Threat Detection for Distributed File System. 2022 IEEE International Conference on Trust, Security and Privacy in Computing and Communications (TrustCom). :1441—1446.
In recent years, data security incidents caused by insider threats in distributed file systems have attracted the attention of academia and industry. The most common way to detect insider threats is based on user profiles. Through analysis, we realize that based on existing user profiles are not efficient enough, and there are many false positives when a stable user profile has not yet been formed. In this work, we propose personalized user profiles and design an insider threat detection framework, which can intelligently detect insider threats for securing distributed file systems in real-time. To generate personalized user profiles, we come up with a time window-based clustering algorithm and a weighted kernel density estimation algorithm. Compared with non-personalized user profiles, both the Recall and Precision of insider threat detection based on personalized user profiles have been improved, resulting in their harmonic mean F1 increased to 96.52%. Meanwhile, to reduce the false positives of insider threat detection, we put forward operation recommendations based on user similarity to predict new operations that users will produce in the future, which can reduce the false positive rate (FPR). The FPR is reduced to 1.54% and the false positive identification rate (FPIR) is as high as 92.62%. Furthermore, to mitigate the risks caused by inaccurate authorization for users, we present user tags based on operation content and permission. The experimental results show that our proposed framework can detect insider threats more effectively and precisely, with lower FPR and high FPIR.

With the increasing awareness of privacy protection and data security, people’s concerns over the confidentiality of sensitive data still limit the application of distributed artificial intelligence. In fact, a new encryption form, called homomorphic encryption(HE), has achieved a balance between security and operability. In particular, one of the HE schemes named Paillier has been adopted to protect data privacy in distributed artificial intelligence. However, the massive computation of modular multiplication in Paillier greatly affects the speed of encryption and decryption. In this paper, we propose a fast CRT-Paillier scheme to accelerate its decryption process. We first introduce the Montgomery algorithm to the CRT-Paillier to improve the process of the modular exponentiation, and then compute the modular exponentiation in parallel by using OpenMP. The experimental results show that our proposed scheme has greatly heightened its decryption speed while preserving the same security level. Especially, when the key length is 4096-bit, its speed of decryption is about 148 times faster than CRT-Paillier.

The development of cloud apps enables people to exchange resources, goods, and expertise online with other clients. The material is more vulnerable to numerous security dangers from outsiders due to the fact that millions of users exchange data through the same system. How to maintain the security of this data is now the main concern. The current data protection system functions best when it places a greater priority on safeguarding data maintained in online storage than it does on cybersecurity during transportation. The data becomes open to intrusion attacks while being transferred. Additionally, the present craze states that an outside auditor may view data as it is being transmitted. Additionally, by allowing the hacker to assume a third-person identity while obtaining the information, this makes the data more susceptible to exploitation. The proposed system focuses on using encryption to safeguard information flow since cybersecurity is seen as a major issue. The approach also takes into account the fourth auditing issue, which is that under the recommended manner, the inspector is not allowed to see the user information. Tests have shown that the recommended technique improves security overall by making it harder for hackers to decode the supplied data.

Data secure deletion operation in storage media is an important function of data security management. The internal physical properties of SSDs are different from hard disks, and data secure deletion of disks can not apply to SSDs directly. Copyback operation is used to improve the data migration performance of SSDs but is rarely used due to error accumulation issue. We propose a data securely deletion algorithm based on copyback operation, which improves the efficiency of data secure deletion without affecting the reliability of data. First, this paper proves that the data secure delete operation takes a long time on the channel bus, increasing the I/O overhead, and reducing the performance of the SSDs. Secondly, this paper designs an efficient data deletion algorithm, which can process read requests quickly. The experimental results show that the proposed algorithm can reduce the response time of read requests by 21% and the response time of delete requests by 18.7% over the existing algorithm.

With the rapid development of cloud storage technology, an increasing number of enterprises and users choose to store data in the cloud, which can reduce the local overhead and ensure safe storage, sharing, and deletion. In cloud storage, safe data deletion is a critical and challenging problem. This paper proposes an assured data deletion scheme based on multi-authoritative users in the semi-trusted cloud storage scenario (MAU-AD), which aims to realize the secure management of the key without introducing any trusted third party and achieve assured deletion of cloud data. MAU-AD uses access policy graphs to achieve fine-grained access control and data sharing. Besides, the data security is guaranteed by mutual restriction between authoritative users, and the system robustness is improved by multiple authoritative users jointly managing keys. In addition, the traceability of misconduct in the system can be realized by blockchain technology. Through simulation experiments and comparison with related schemes, MAU-AD is proven safe and effective, and it provides a novel application scenario for the assured deletion of cloud storage data.

Covert channels are data transmission methods that bypass the detection of security mechanisms and pose a serious threat to critical infrastructure. Meanwhile, it is also an effective way to ensure the secure transmission of private data. Therefore, research on covert channels helps us to quickly detect attacks and protect the security of data transmission. This paper proposes covert channels based on the timestamp of the Internet Control Message Protocol echo reply packet in the Linux system. By considering the concealment, we improve our proposed covert channels, ensuring that changing trends in the timestamp of modified consecutive packets are consistent with consecutive regular packets. Besides, we design an Iptables rule based on the current system time to analyze the performance of the proposed covert channels. Finally, it is shown through experiments that the channels complete the private data transmission in the industrial control network. Furthermore, the results demonstrate that the improved covert channels offer better performance in concealment, time cost, and the firewall test.
