Zhang, Jie.  2022.  Design of Portable Sensor Data Storage System Based on Homomorphic Encryption Algorithm. 2022 International Conference on Knowledge Engineering and Communication Systems (ICKES). :1—4.
With the development of sensor technology, people put forward a higher level, more diversified demand for portable rangefinders. However, its data storage method has not been developed in a large scale and breakthrough. This paper studies the design of portable sensor data storage system based on homomorphic encryption algorithm, which aims to maintain the security of sensor data storage through homomorphic encryption algorithm. This paper analyzes the functional requirements of the sensor data storage system, puts forward the overall design scheme of the system, and explains in detail the requirements and indicators for the specific realization of each part of the function. Analyze the different technical resources currently used in the storage system field, and dig deep into the key technologies that match the portable sensor data storage system. This paper has changed the problem of cumbersome operation steps and inconvenient data recovery in the sensor data storage system. This paper mainly uses the method of control variables and data comparison to carry out the experiment. The experimental results show that the success rate of the sensor data storage system under the homomorphic encryption algorithm is infinitely close to 100% as the number of data blocks increases.

Nowadays cloud computing has become the crucial part of IT and most important thing is information security in cloud environment. Range of users can access the facilities and use cloud according to their feasibility. Cloud computing is utilized as safe storage of information but still data security is the biggest concern, for example, secrecy, data accessibility, data integrity is considerable factor for cloud storage. Cloud service providers provide the facility to clients that they can store the data on cloud remotely and access whenever required. Due to this facility, it gets necessary to shield or cover information from unapproved access, hackers or any sort of alteration and malevolent conduct. It is inexpensive approach to store the valuable information and doesn't require any hardware and software to hold the data. it gives excellent work experience but main measure is just security. In this work security strategies have been proposed for cloud data protection, capable to overpower the shortcomings of conventional data protection algorithms and enhancing security using steganography algorithm, encryption decryption techniques, compression and file splitting technique. These techniques are utilized for effective results in data protection, Client can easily access our developed desktop application and share the information in an effective and secured way.

With the development of technology, the structure of power grid becomes more and more complex, and the amount of data collected is also increasing. In the existing smart power grid, the data collected by sensors need to be uploaded and stored to the trusted central node, but the centralized storage method is easy to cause the malicious attack of the central node, resulting in single point failure, data tampering and other security problems. In order to solve these information security problems, this paper proposes a new data security storage framework based on private blockchain. By using the improved raft algorithm, partial decentralized data storage is used instead of traditional centralized storage. It also introduces in detail the working mechanism of the smart grid data security storage framework, including the process of uploading collected data, data verification, and data block consensus. The security analysis shows the effectiveness of the proposed data storage framework.

Using the blockchain technology to store the privatedocuments of individuals will help make data more reliable and secure, preventing the loss of data and unauthorized access. The Consensus algorithm along with the hash algorithms maintains the integrity of data simultaneously providing authentication and authorization. The paper incorporates the block chain and the Identity Based Encryption management concept. The Identity based Management system allows the encryption of the user's data as well as their identity and thus preventing them from Identity theft and fraud. These two technologies combined will result in a more secure way of storing the data and protecting the privacy of the user.

Singh, P., Saroj, S. K..  2020.  A Secure Data Dynamics and Public Auditing Scheme for Cloud Storage. 2020 6th International Conference on Advanced Computing and Communication Systems (ICACCS). :695–700.
Cloud computing is an evolving technology that provides data storage and highly fast computing services at a very low cost. All data stored in the cloud is handled by their cloud service providers or the caretaker of the cloud. The data owner is concerned about the authenticity and reliability of the data stored in the cloud as the data owners. Data can be misappropriated or altered by any unauthorized user or person. This paper desire to suggest a secure public auditing scheme applying third party auditors to authenticate the privacy, reliability, and integrity of data stored in the cloud. This proposed auditing scheme composes the use of the AES-256 algorithm for encryption, SHA-512 for integrity check and RSA-15360 for public-key encryption. And perform data dynamics operation which deals with mostly insertion, deletion, and, modification.
Xu, P., Chen, L., Jiang, Y., Sun, Q., Chen, H..  2020.  Research on Sensitivity Audit Scheme of Encrypted Data in Power Business. 2020 IEEE International Conference on Energy Internet (ICEI). :6–10.

With the rapid progress of informatization construction in power business, data resource has become the basic strategic resource of the power industry and innovative element in power production. The security protection of data in power business is particularly important in the informatization construction of power business. In order to implement data security protection, transparent encryption is one of the fifteen key technical standards in the Construction Guideline of the Standard Network Data Security System. However, data storage in the encrypted state is bound to affect the security audit of data to a certain extent. Based on this problem, this paper proposes a scheme to audit the sensitivity of the power business data under the protection of encryption to achieve an efficient sensitivity audit of ciphertext data with the premise of not revealing the decryption key or data information. Through a security demonstration, this paper fully proves that this solution is secure under the known plaintext attacks.

One of the significant advancements in information technology is Cloud computing, but the security issue of data storage is a big problem in the cloud environment. That is why a system is proposed in this paper for improving the security of cloud data using encryption, information concealment, and hashing functions. In the data encryption phase, we implemented hybrid encryption using the algorithm of AES symmetric encryption and the algorithm of RSA asymmetric encryption. Next, the encrypted data will be hidden in an image using LSB algorithm. In the data validation phase, we use the SHA hashing algorithm. Also, in our suggestion, we compress the data using the LZW algorithm before hiding it in the image. Thus, it allows hiding as much data as possible. By using information concealment technology and mixed encryption, we can achieve strong data security. In this paper, PSNR and SSIM values were calculated in addition to the graph to evaluate the image masking performance before and after applying the compression process. The results showed that PSNR values of stego-image are better for compressed data compared to data before compression.

Data storage in Distributed Storage Systems (DSS) is a multidimensional optimization problem. Using network coding, one wants to provide reliability, scalability, security, reduced storage overhead, reduced bandwidth for repair and minimal disk I/O in such systems. Advances in the construction of optimal Fractional Repetition (FR) codes, a smart replication of encoded packets on n nodes which also provides optimized disk I/O and where a node failure can be repaired by contacting some specific set of nodes in the system, is in high demand. An attempt towards the construction of universally good FR codes using three different approaches is addressed in this work. In this paper, we present that the code constructed using the partial regular graph for heterogeneous DSS, where the number of packets on each node is different, is universally good. Further, we also encounter the list of parameters for which the ring construction and the T-construction results in universally good codes. In addition, we evaluate the FR code constructions meeting the minimum distance bound.

Wang, H., Ma, L., Bai, H..  2020.  A Three-tier Scheme for Sybil Attack Detection in Wireless Sensor Networks. 2020 5th International Conference on Computer and Communication Systems (ICCCS). :752–756.
Wireless sensor network (WSN) is a wireless self-organizing multi-hop network that can sense and collect the information of the monitored environment through a certain number of sensor nodes which deployed in a certain area and transmit the collected information to the client. Due to the limited power and data capacity stored by the micro sensor, it is weak in communication with other nodes, data storage and calculation, and is very vulnerable to attack and harm to the entire network. The Sybil attack is a classic example. Sybil attack refers to the attack in which malicious nodes forge multiple node identities to participate in network operation. Malicious attackers can forge multiple node identities to participate in data forwarding. So that the data obtained by the end user without any use value. In this paper, we propose a three-tier detection scheme for the Sybil node in the severe environment. Every sensor node will determine whether they are Sybil nodes through the first-level and second-level high-energy node detection. Finally, the base station determines whether the Sybil node detected by the first two stages is true Sybil node. The simulation results show that our proposed scheme significantly improves network lifetime, and effectively improves the accuracy of Sybil node detection.

Smart cities comprise multiple critical infrastructures, two of which are the power grid and communication networks, backed by centralized data analytics and storage. To effectively model the interdependencies between these infrastructures and enable a greater understanding of how communities respond to and impact them, large amounts of varied, real-world data on residential and commercial consumer energy consumption, load patterns, and associated human behavioral impacts are required. The dissemination of such data to the research communities is, however, largely restricted because of security and privacy concerns. This paper creates an opportunity for the development and dissemination of synthetic energy consumption data which is inherently anonymous but holds similarities to the properties of real data. This paper explores a framework using mixture density network (MDN) model integrated with a multi-layered Long Short-Term Memory (LSTM) network which shows promise in this area of research. The model is trained using an initial sample recorded from residential smart meters in the state of Florida, and is used to generate fully synthetic energy consumption data. The synthesized data will be made publicly available for interested users.

Das, Bablu Kumar, Garg, Ritu.  2019.  Security of Cloud Storage based on Extended Hill Cipher and Homomorphic Encryption. 2019 International Conference on Communication and Electronics Systems (ICCES). :515–520.
Cloud computing is one of the emerging area in the business world that help to access resources at low expense with high privacy. Security is a standout amongst the most imperative difficulties in cloud network for cloud providers and their customers. In order to ensure security in cloud, we proposed a framework using different encryption algorithm namely Extended hill cipher and homomorphic encryption. Firstly user data/information is isolated into two parts which is static and dynamic data (critical data). Extended hill cipher encryption is applied over more important dynamic part where we are encrypting the string using matrix multiplication. While homomorphic encryption is applied over static data in which it accepts n number of strings as information, encode each string independently and lastly combine all the strings. The test results clearly manifests that the proposed model provides better information security.

It seems impossible to certify that a remote hosting service does not leak its users' data - or does quantum mechanics make it possible? We investigate if a server hosting data can information-theoretically prove its definite deletion using a "BB84-like" protocol. To do so, we first rigorously introduce an alternative to privacy by encryption: privacy delegation. We then apply this novel concept to provable deletion and remote data storage. For both tasks, we present a protocol, sketch its partial security, and display its vulnerability to eavesdropping attacks targeting only a few bits.

Tiennoy, Sasirom, Saivichit, Chaiyachet.  2018.  Using a Distributed Roadside Unit for the Data Dissemination Protocol in VANET With the Named Data Architecture. IEEE Access. 6:32612–32623.
Vehicular ad hoc network (VANET) has recently become one of the highly active research areas for wireless networking. Since VANET is a multi-hop wireless network with very high mobility and intermittent connection lifetime, it is important to effectively handle the data dissemination issue in this rapidly changing environment. However, the existing TCP/IP implementation may not fit into such a highly dynamic environment because the nodes in the network must often perform rerouting due to their inconsistency of connectivity. In addition, the drivers in the vehicles may want to acquire some data, but they do not know the address/location of such data storage. Hence, the named data networking (NDN) approach may be more desirable here. The NDN architecture is proposed for the future Internet, which focuses on the delivering mechanism based on the message contents instead of relying on the host addresses of the data. In this paper, a new protocol named roadside unit (RSU) assisted of named data network (RA-NDN) is presented. The RSU can operate as a standalone node [standalone RSU (SA-RSU)]. One benefit of deploying SA-RSUs is the improved network connectivity. This study uses the NS3 and SUMO software packages for the network simulator and traffic simulator software, respectively, to verify the performance of the RA-NDN protocol. To reduce the latency under various vehicular densities, vehicular transmission ranges, and number of requesters, the proposed approach is compared with vehicular NDN via a real-world data set in the urban area of Sathorn road in Bangkok, Thailand. The simulation results show that the RA-NDN protocol improves the performance of ad hoc communications with the increase in data received ratio and throughput and the decrease in total dissemination time and traffic load.

We propose a novel application of coded computing to the problem of the nearest neighbor estimation using MatDot Codes (Fahim et al., Allerton'17) that are known to be optimal for matrix multiplication in terms of recovery threshold under storage constraints. In approximate nearest neighbor algorithms, it is common to construct efficient in-memory indexes to improve query response time. One such strategy is Multiple Random Projection Trees (MRPT), which reduces the set of candidate points over which Euclidean distance calculations are performed. However, this may result in a high memory footprint and possibly paging penalties for large or high-dimensional data. Here we propose two techniques to parallelize MRPT that exploit data and model parallelism respectively by dividing both the data storage and the computation efforts among different nodes in a distributed computing cluster. This is especially critical when a single compute node cannot hold the complete dataset in memory. We also propose a novel coded computation strategy based on MatDot codes for the model-parallel architecture that, in a straggler-prone environment, achieves the storage-optimal recovery threshold, i.e., the number of nodes that are required to serve a query. We experimentally demonstrate that, in the absence of straggling, our distributed approaches require less query time than execution on a single processing node, providing near-linear speedups with respect to the number of worker nodes. Our experiments on real systems with simulated straggling, we also show that in a straggler-prone environment, our strategy achieves a faster query execution than the uncoded strategy.

Cloud computing has become an important and popular infrastructure for data storage and sharing. Typically, data owners outsource their massive data to a public cloud that will provide search services to authorized data users. With privacy concerns, the valuable outsourced data cannot be exposed directly, and should be encrypted before outsourcing to the public cloud. In this paper, we focus on k-Nearest Neighbor (k-NN) search over encrypted data. We propose efficient and secure k-NN search schemes based on matrix similarity to achieve efficient and secure query services in public cloud. In our basic scheme, we construct the traces of two diagonal multiplication matrices to denote the Euclidean distance of two data points, and perform secure k-NN search by comparing traces of corresponding similar matrices. In our enhanced scheme, we strengthen the security property by decomposing matrices based on our basic scheme. Security analysis shows that our schemes protect the data privacy and query privacy under attacking with different levels of background knowledge. Experimental evaluations show that both schemes are efficient in terms of computation complexity as well as computational cost.

The need for data exchange and storage is currently increasing. The increased need for data exchange and storage also increases the need for data exchange devices and media. One of the most commonly used media exchanges and data storage is the USB Flash Drive. USB Flash Drive are widely used because they are easy to carry and have a fairly large storage. Unfortunately, this increased need is not directly proportional to an increase in awareness of device security, both for USB flash drive devices and computer devices that are used as primary storage devices. This research shows the threats that can arise from the use of USB Flash Drive devices. The threat that is used in this research is the fork bomb implemented on an Arduino Pro Micro device that is converted to a USB Flash drive. The purpose of the Fork Bomb is to damage the memory performance of the affected devices. As a result, memory performance to execute the process will slow down. The use of a USB Flash drive as an attack vector with the fork bomb method causes users to not be able to access the operating system that was attacked. The results obtained indicate that the USB Flash Drive can be used as a medium of Fork Bomb attack on the Windows operating system.

The usage of cloud for data storage has become ubiquitous. To prevent data leakage and hacks, it is common to encrypt the data (e.g. PDF files) before sending it to a cloud. However, this limits the search for specific files containing certain keywords over an encrypted cloud data. The traditional method is to take down all files from a cloud, store them locally, decrypt and then search over them, defeating the purpose of using a cloud. In this paper, we propose a method, called SecureCSearch, to perform keyword search operations on the encrypted PDF files over cloud in an efficient manner. The proposed method makes use of Shamir's Secret Sharing scheme in a novel way to create encrypted shares of the PDF file and the keyword to search. We show that the proposed method maintains the security of the data and incurs minimal computation cost.
Camera, Giancarlo, Baglietto, Pierpaolo, Maresca, Massimo.  2019.  A Platform for Private and Controlled Spreadsheet Objects Sharing. 2019 IEEE 23rd International Enterprise Distributed Object Computing Conference (EDOC). :67–76.
Spreadsheets are widely used in industries for tabular data analysis, visualization and storage. Users often exchange spreadsheets' semi-structured data to collaborative analyze them. Recently, office suites integrated a software module that enables collaborative authoring of office files, including spreadsheets, to facilitate the sharing process. Typically spreadsheets collaborative authoring applications, like Google Sheets or Excel online, need to delocalize the entire file in public cloud storage servers. This choice is not secure for enterprise use because it exposes shared content to the risk of third party access. Moreover, available platforms usually provide coarse grained spreadsheet file sharing, where collaborators have access to all data stored inside a workbook and to all the spreadsheets' formulas used to manipulate those data. This approach limits users' possibilities to disclose only a small portion of tabular data and integrate data coming from different sources (spreadsheets or software platforms). For these reasons enterprise users prefer to control fine grained confidential data exchange and their updates manually through copy, paste, attach-to-email, extract-from-email operations. However unsupervised data sharing and circulation often leads to errors or, at the very least, to inconsistencies, data losses, and proliferation of multiple copies. We propose a model that gives business users a different level of spreadsheet data sharing control, privacy and management. Our approach enables collaborative analytics of tabular data focusing on fine grained spreadsheet data sharing instead of coarse grained file sharing. This solution works with a platform that implements an end to end encrypted protocol for sensitive data sharing that prevents third party access to confidential content. Data are never shared into public clouds but they are transferred encrypted among the administrative domains of collaborators. In this paper we describe the model and the implemented system that enable our solution. We focus on two enterprise use cases we implemented describing how we deployed our platform to speed up and optimize industry processes that involve spreadsheet usage.

Wang, Qihua, Lv, Gaoyan, Sun, Xiuling.  2019.  Distributed Access Control with Outsourced Computation in Fog Computing. 2019 Chinese Control And Decision Conference (CCDC). :2446–2450.

With the rapid development of Internet of things (IOT) and big data, the number of network terminal devices and big data transmission are increasing rapidly. Traditional cloud computing faces a great challenge in dealing with this massive amount of data. Fog computing which extends the computing at the edge of the network can provide computation and data storage. Attribute based-encryption can effectively achieve the fine-grained access control. However, the computational complexity of the encryption and decryption is growing linearly with the increase of the number of attributes. In order to reduce the computational cost and guarantee the confidentiality of data, distributed access control with outsourced computation in fog computing is proposed in this paper. In our proposed scheme, fog device takes most of computational cost in encryption and decryption phase. The computational cost of the receiver and sender can be reduced. Moreover, the private key of the user is generated by multi-authority which can enhance the security of data. The analysis of security and performance shows that our proposed scheme proves to be effective and secure.

With the widespread of cloud computing, the delegation of storage and computing is becoming a popular trend. Concerns on data integrity, security, user privacy as well as the correctness of execution are highlighted due to the untrusted remote data manipulation. Most of existing proposals solve the integrity checking and verifiable computation problems by challenge-response model, but are lack of scalability and reusability. Via blockchain, we achieve efficient and transparent public verifiable delegation for both storage and computing. Meanwhile, the smart contract provides API for request handling and secure data query. The security and privacy issues of data opening are settled by applying cryptographic algorithms all through the delegations. Additionally, any access to the outsourced data requires the owner's authentication, so that the dat transference and utilization are under control.

Rahman, M. S., Hossam-E-Haider, M..  2019.  Quantum IoT: A Quantum Approach in IoT Security Maintenance. 2019 International Conference on Robotics,Electrical and Signal Processing Techniques (ICREST). :269–272.

Securing Internet of things is a major concern as it deals with data that are personal, needed to be reliable, can direct and manipulate device decisions in a harmful way. Also regarding data generation process is heterogeneous, data being immense in volume, complex management. Quantum Computing and Internet of Things (IoT) coined as Quantum IoT defines a concept of greater security design which harness the virtue of quantum mechanics laws in Internet of Things (IoT) security management. Also it ensures secured data storage, processing, communication, data dynamics. In this paper, an IoT security infrastructure is introduced which is a hybrid one, with an extra layer, which ensures quantum state. This state prevents any sort of harmful actions from the eavesdroppers in the communication channel and cyber side, by maintaining its state, protecting the key by quantum cryptography BB84 protocol. An adapted version is introduced specific to this IoT scenario. A classical cryptography system `One-Time pad (OTP)' is used in the hybrid management. The novelty of this paper lies with the integration of classical and quantum communication for Internet of Things (IoT) security.
