Abstract:
Functional electrical stimulation (FES) is a promising technology for activating muscles in spinal cord injured (SCI) patients. The objective of our project was to develop an intuitive user interface and control system that allows high-level tetraplegic patients to regain the use of their own arm.

Abstract:
This project aims to enable cyber-physical systems that can be worn on the body in order to one day allow their users to touch, feel, and manipulate computationally simulated three-dimensional objects or digital data in physically realistic ways, using the whole hand. It will do this by precisely measuring touch and movement-induced displacements of the skin in the hand, and by reproducing these signals interactively, via new technologies to be developed in the project.

Abstract:
Telerobotic systems are cyber-physical systems where human operators and robots exchange information using a combination of publicly available communication networks and temporary ad-hoc wireless and satellite networks.

Abstract:
Optimization algorithms used in a real-time and safety-critical context offer the potential for considerably advancing robotic and autonomous systems by improving their ability to execute complex missions.

Abstract:
While driving on your favorite route to your destination, have you ever wondered why the technology you are seeing as far as traffic management is concerned is so antiquated? My answer to that is the people and organization that manage the traffic are not "cyber-physicists" and Google does not run our traffic lights.

Abstract:
The problem of controlling biomechatronic systems, such as multiarticulating prosthetic hands, involves unique challenges in the science and engineering of Cyber Physical Systems (CPS), requiring integration between computational systems for recognizing human functional activity and intent and controlling prosthetic devices to interact with the physical world.

Abstract:
Advances in power semiconductor devices have rapidly paved the way for high-frequency power electronics to the point that high-frequency distributed power systems (HFDPSs) - such as Boolean Microgrid - are increasingly becoming a practical reality, provided the effects of transmission-line length can be mitigated. However, the usage of HFDPSs has been primarily limited to the printed-circuit-board (PCB) level applications because of the transmission-line effect that a power signal encounters as it propagates through the transmission line .

Abstract:
The ubiquitous deployment of mobile and sensor devices is creating a new environment, namely, the Internet of Things (IoT), enabling a wide range of future Situation Awareness applications. Situation awareness is both a property and an application class of cyber-physical systems, which deals with recognizing when sensed data could lead to actionable knowledge. There are still many missing components that are required to have a rich and fully functional deployment of sensors with a continuous stream of actionable data.
