Das, Bablu Kumar, Garg, Ritu.  2019.  Security of Cloud Storage based on Extended Hill Cipher and Homomorphic Encryption. 2019 International Conference on Communication and Electronics Systems (ICCES). :515–520.
Cloud computing is one of the emerging area in the business world that help to access resources at low expense with high privacy. Security is a standout amongst the most imperative difficulties in cloud network for cloud providers and their customers. In order to ensure security in cloud, we proposed a framework using different encryption algorithm namely Extended hill cipher and homomorphic encryption. Firstly user data/information is isolated into two parts which is static and dynamic data (critical data). Extended hill cipher encryption is applied over more important dynamic part where we are encrypting the string using matrix multiplication. While homomorphic encryption is applied over static data in which it accepts n number of strings as information, encode each string independently and lastly combine all the strings. The test results clearly manifests that the proposed model provides better information security.
Chugunkov, Ilya V., Ivanov, Michael A., Kliuchnikova, Bogdana V..  2019.  Hash Functions are Based on Three-Dimensional Stochastic Transformations. 2019 IEEE Conference of Russian Young Researchers in Electrical and Electronic Engineering (EIConRus). :202–205.
The methods are based on injecting unpredictability into means and objects of protection are called stochastic methods of information security. The effective protection can be done only by using stochastic methods against an active opponent. The effectiveness of stochastic protection methods is defined by the quality of the used pseudo-random number generators and hash functions. The proposed hashing algorithm DOZENHASH is based on the using of 3D stochastic transformations of DOZEN family. The principal feature of the algorithm is that all input and output data blocks as well as intermediate results of calculations are represented as three-dimensional array of bytes with 4 bytes in each dimension. Thus, the resulting transformation has a high degree of parallelism at the level of elementary operations, in other words, it is focused on the implementation using heterogeneous supercomputer technologies.

In this paper, we present an extensive evaluation of face recognition and verification approaches performed by the European COST Action MULTI-modal Imaging of FOREnsic SciEnce Evidence (MULTI-FORESEE). The aim of the study is to evaluate various face recognition and verification methods, ranging from methods based on facial landmarks to state-of-the-art off-the-shelf pre-trained Convolutional Neural Networks (CNN), as well as CNN models directly trained for the task at hand. To fulfill this objective, we carefully designed and implemented a realistic data acquisition process, that corresponds to a typical face verification setup, and collected a challenging dataset to evaluate the real world performance of the aforementioned methods. Apart from verifying the effectiveness of deep learning approaches in a specific scenario, several important limitations are identified and discussed through the paper, providing valuable insight for future research directions in the field.

System penetration testing is an important measure of discovering information system security issues. This paper summarizes and analyzes the high-risk problems found in the penetration testing of the artificial storm prediction system for power grid storm disasters from four aspects: application security, middleware security, host security and network security. In particular, in order to overcome the blindness of PGRDAIPS current SQL injection penetration test, this paper proposes a SQL blind bug based on improved second-order fragmentation reorganization. By modeling the SQL injection attack behavior and comparing the SQL injection vulnerability test in PGRDAIPS, this method can effectively reduce the blindness of SQL injection penetration test and improve its accuracy. With the prevalence of ubiquitous power internet of things, the electric power information system security defense work has to be taken seriously. This paper can not only guide the design, development and maintenance of disaster prediction information systems, but also provide security for the Energy Internet disaster safety and power meteorological service technology support.

Üzüm, İbrahim, Can, Özgü.  2018.  An anomaly detection approach for enterprise file integration. 2018 6th International Symposium on Digital Forensic and Security (ISDFS). :1–4.
An information system based on real-time file integrations has an important role in today's organizations' work process management. By connecting to the network, file flow and integration between corporate systems have gained a great significance. In addition, network and security issues have emerged depending on the file structure and transfer processes. Thus, there has become a need for an effective and self-learning anomaly detection module for file transfer processes in order to provide the persistence of integration channels, accountability of transfer logs and data integrity. This paper proposes a novel anomaly detection approach that focuses on file size and integration duration of file transfers between enterprise systems. For this purpose, size and time anomalies on transferring files will be detected by a machine learning-based structure. Later, an alarm system is going to be developed in order to inform the authenticated individuals about the anomalies.

Ming, Liang, Zhao, Gang, Huang, Minhuan, Kuang, Xiaohui, Li, Hu, Zhang, Ming.  2018.  Security Analysis of Intelligent Transportation Systems Based on Simulation Data. 2018 1st International Conference on Data Intelligence and Security (ICDIS). :184—187.

Modern vehicles in Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS) can communicate with each other as well as roadside infrastructure units (RSUs) in order to increase transportation efficiency and road safety. For example, there are techniques to alert drivers in advance about traffic incidents and to help them avoid congestion. Threats to these systems, on the other hand, can limit the benefits of these technologies. Securing ITS itself is an important concern in ITS design and implementation. In this paper, we provide a security model of ITS which extends the classic layered network security model with transportation security and information security, and gives a reference for designing ITS architectures. Based on this security model, we also present a classification of ITS threats for defense. Finally a proof-of-concept example with malicious nodes in an ITS system is also given to demonstrate the impact of attacks. We analyzed the threat of malicious nodes and their effects to commuters, like increasing toll fees, travel distances, and travel times etc. Experimental results from simulations based on Veins shows the threats will bring about 43.40% more total toll fees, 39.45% longer travel distances, and 63.10% more travel times.

Katasev, Alexey S., Emaletdinova, Lilia Yu., Kataseva, Dina V..  2018.  Neural Network Spam Filtering Technology. 2018 International Conference on Industrial Engineering, Applications and Manufacturing (ICIEAM). :1—5.

In this paper we solve the problem of neural network technology development for e-mail messages classification. We analyze basic methods of spam filtering such as a sender IP-address analysis, spam messages repeats detection and the Bayesian filtering according to words. We offer the neural network technology for solving this problem because the neural networks are universal approximators and effective in addressing the problems of classification. Also, we offer the scheme of this technology for e-mail messages “spam”/“not spam” classification. The creation of effective neural network model of spam filtering is performed within the databases knowledge discovery technology. For this training set is formed, the neural network model is trained, its value and classifying ability are estimated. The experimental studies have shown that a developed artificial neural network model is adequate and it can be effectively used for the e-mail messages classification. Thus, in this paper we have shown the possibility of the effective neural network model use for the e-mail messages filtration and have shown a scheme of artificial neural network model use as a part of the e-mail spam filtering intellectual system.

A database is an organized collection of data. Though a number of techniques, such as encryption and electronic signatures, are currently available for the protection of data when transmitted across sites. Database security refers to the collective measures used to protect and secure a database or database management software from illegitimate use and malicious threats and attacks. In this paper, we create 6 types of method for more secure ways to store and retrieve database information that is both convenient and efficient. Confidentiality, integrity, and availability, also known as the CIA triad, is a model designed to guide policies for information security within the database. There are many cryptography techniques available among them, ECC is one of the most powerful techniques. A user wants to the data stores or request, the user needs to authenticate. When a user who is authenticated, he will get key from a key generator and then he must be data encrypt or decrypt within the database. Every keys store in a key generator and retrieve from the key generator. We use 256 bits of AES encryption for rows level encryption, columns level encryption, and elements level encryption for the database. Next two method is encrypted AES 256 bits random key by using 521 bits of ECC encryption and signature for rows level encryption and column level encryption. Last method is most secure method in this paper, which method is element level encryption with AES and ECC encryption for confidentiality and ECC signature use for every element within the database for integrity. As well as encrypting data at rest, it's also important to ensure confidential data are encrypted in motion over our network to protect against database signature security. The advantages of elements level are difficult for attack because the attacker gets a key that is lose only one element. The disadvantages need to thousands or millions of keys to manage.

Frank, Anna, Aydinian, Harout, Boche, Holger.  2019.  Delay Optimal Coding for Secure Transmission over a Burst Erasure Wiretap Channel. 2019 IEEE Wireless Communications and Networking Conference (WCNC). :1—7.

We consider transmissions of secure messages over a burst erasure wiretap channel under decoding delay constraint. For block codes we introduce and study delay optimal secure burst erasure correcting (DO-SBE) codes that provide perfect security and recover a burst of erasures of a limited length with minimum possible delay. Our explicit constructions of DO-SBE block codes achieve maximum secrecy rate. We also consider a model of a burst erasure wiretap channel for the streaming setup, where in any sliding window of a given size, in a stream of encoded source packets, the eavesdropper is able to observe packets in an interval of a given size. For that model we obtain an information theoretic upper bound on the secrecy rate for delay optimal streaming codes. We show that our block codes can be used for construction of delay optimal burst erasure correcting streaming codes which provide perfect security and meet the upper bound for a certain class of code parameters.

The network coding optimization based on niche genetic algorithm can observably reduce the network overhead of encoding technology, however, security issues haven't been considered in the coding operation. In order to solve this problem, we propose a network coding optimization scheme for niche algorithm based on security performance (SNGA). It is on the basis of multi-target niche genetic algorithm(NGA)to construct a fitness function which with k-secure network coding mechanism, and to ensure the realization of information security and achieve the maximum transmission of the network. The simulation results show that SNGA can effectively improve the security of network coding, and ensure the running time and convergence speed of the optimal solution.

Werner, Jorge, Westphall, Carla Merkle, Vargas, André Azevedo, Westphall, Carlos Becker.  2019.  Privacy Policies Model in Access Control. 2019 IEEE International Systems Conference (SysCon). :1—8.
With the increasing advancement of services on the Internet, due to the strengthening of cloud computing, the exchange of data between providers and users is intense. Management of access control and applications need data to identify users and/or perform services in an automated and more practical way. Applications have to protect access to data collected. However, users often provide data in cloud environments and do not know what was collected, how or by whom data will be used. Privacy of personal data has been a challenge for information security. This paper presents the development and use of a privacy policy strategy, i. e., it was proposed a privacy policy model and format to be integrated with the authorization task. An access control language and the preferences defined by the owner of information were used to implement the proposals. The results showed that the strategy is feasible, guaranteeing to the users the right over their data.

Walker, Aaron, Amjad, Muhammad Faisal, Sengupta, Shamik.  2019.  Cuckoo’s Malware Threat Scoring and Classification: Friend or Foe? 2019 IEEE 9th Annual Computing and Communication Workshop and Conference (CCWC). :0678–0684.
Malware threat classification involves understanding the behavior of the malicious software and how it affects a victim host system. Classifying threats allows for measured response appropriate to the risk involved. Malware incident response depends on many automated tools for the classification of threat to help identify the appropriate reaction to a threat alert. Cuckoo Sandbox is one such tool which can be used for automated analysis of malware and one method of threat classification provided is a threat score. A security analyst might submit a suspicious file to Cuckoo for analysis to determine whether or not the file contains malware or performs potentially malicious behavior on a system. Cuckoo is capable of producing a report of this behavior and ranks the severity of the observed actions as a score from one to ten, with ten being the most severe. As such, a malware sample classified as an 8 would likely take priority over a sample classified as a 3. Unfortunately, this scoring classification can be misleading due to the underlying methodology of severity classification. In this paper we demonstrate why the current methodology of threat scoring is flawed and therefore we believe it can be improved with greater emphasis on analyzing the behavior of the malware. This allows for a threat classification rating which scales with the risk involved in the malware behavior.

With the continuous development of the Internet of Things, intelligent manufacturing has gradually entered the application stage, which urgently needs to solve the problem of information transmission security. In order to realize data security with transmission encryption, the UHF RFID tag based on domestic cryptographic algorithm SM7 is proposed. By writing the anti-counterfeiting authentication identification code when the tag leaves the factory, verifying the identification code when the tag is issued, and using the authentication code of the tag to participate in the sectoral key dispersion, the purpose of data security protection is achieved. Through this scheme, the security of tag information and transmission is guaranteed, and a new idea is provided for the follow-up large-scale extension of intelligent manufacturing.

Hamadah, Siham, Aqel, Darah.  2019.  A Proposed Virtual Private Cloud-Based Disaster Recovery Strategy. 2019 IEEE Jordan International Joint Conference on Electrical Engineering and Information Technology (JEEIT). :469–473.

Disaster is an unexpected event in a system lifetime, which can be made by nature or even human errors. Disaster recovery of information technology is an area of information security for protecting data against unsatisfactory events. It involves a set of procedures and tools for returning an organization to a state of normality after an occurrence of a disastrous event. So the organizations need to have a good plan in place for disaster recovery. There are many strategies for traditional disaster recovery and also for cloud-based disaster recovery. This paper focuses on using cloud-based disaster recovery strategies instead of the traditional techniques, since the cloud-based disaster recovery has proved its efficiency in providing the continuity of services faster and in less cost than the traditional ones. The paper introduces a proposed model for virtual private disaster recovery on cloud by using two metrics, which comprise a recovery time objective and a recovery point objective. The proposed model has been evaluated by experts in the field of information technology and the results show that the model has ensured the security and business continuity issues, as well as the faster recovery of a disaster that could face an organization. The paper also highlights the cloud computing services and illustrates the most benefits of cloud-based disaster recovery.

Babkin, Sergey, Epishkina, Anna.  2019.  Authentication Protocols Based on One-Time Passwords. 2019 IEEE Conference of Russian Young Researchers in Electrical and Electronic Engineering (EIConRus). :1794–1798.
Nowadays one-time passwords are used in a lot of areas of information technologies including e-commerce. A few vulnerabilities in authentication protocols based on one-time passwords are widely known. In current work, we analyze authentication protocols based on one-time passwords and their vulnerabilities. Both simple and complicated protocols which are implementing cryptographic algorithms are reviewed. For example, an analysis of relatively old Lamport's hash-chain protocol is provided. At the same time, we examine HOTP and TOTP protocols which are actively used nowadays. The main result of the work are conclusions about the security of reviewed protocols based on one-time passwords.
